WTB: 04W1730, HD+ Cable for L520

I would like to buy a HD+ LVDS cable for L520 - to try and fit in my L420. Though I'm not sure if it would work for a L420... I'm trying to upgrade my L420 panel to 1600x900, but I'm unsure if my L420 came with a single or dual channel LVDS connection. If you know of any information please let me kn...

HD+/FHD Upgrade for L420?

I have recently got my hands on a L420 to replace my T61, with a 2860QM put in the laptop's absolutely flying - cooling is fine too. However, I have just one gripe, the 1366x760 screen on the machine is really limiting the workable space. Would it be possible to upgrade the laptop with something wit...

Re: IBM ThinkPad 701C, A Visual Tour

I'd love to have a nice 700 series for my collection. Lovely photos and nice write-up by the way, and perhaps a video for YouTube at some point? That is one thing that is lacking on YouTube, really high quality Thinkpad videos with good research, presentation and camera work etc. Thanks! I do have ...

Re: IBM ThinkPad 701C, A Visual Tour

Thank you for this wonderful visual tour. Indeed, the 701C is one of the most unique models. My pleasure, I have been longing for a working and clean 701C for a couple of years now - trust me, I'm happy to write more about it. I was fascinated to learn about the ability to access the BIOS con...

IBM ThinkPad 701C, A Visual Tour

6+ hours of photo-shooting and filming later, I have finally assembled a visual album/tour for my IBM ThinkPad 701C, I have posted it on Imgur. Enjoy! :D

WTB: 701C Keyboard Cover/Shelf

Offers welcome... Got myself a relatively handsome looking 701C, however the labels/logos/icons below the LEDs are smudged for some reason - really triggers my OCD.

If anyone has one of these keyboard covers/shelves please let me know, preferably NOS but I understand just how unrealistic that may be.

FS: ThinkPad W541

This listing is for a Lenovo ThinkPad W541 I purchased personally as a CTO (Configured To Order) model with mostly the highest specs. This ThinkPad was used in smoke-free environment as a compiling server, and it proves to provide great performance and stability. The machine is in great shape as it ...

Re: Dock II adapter for 701C on eBay

Looks like it will leave a big gap between the 701 and the dock though... P.S. How good it would be if it fits on a Dock I... No gap. If I remember correctly, the adapter gets tucked inside the dock and folds out to attach to the 701C, which sits flush on top of the dock itself. Dock II only, of co...

WTB: ThinkPad 701C

Hi all,

Currently in a look out for a 701C in decent shape, had one all scratched up and the floppy port was broken... Pain.

This WTB is for a 701C and its recovery media if anyone has it. PM's welcome.

So it turned out to be HDD password, is there anyway to remove the password without swapping out the hard drive? Couldn't find anything online about this that does not involve having the original password... FWIW, I searched for 755/760 info as they are more popular, and 360 is just too easy to be o...

Re: Removing password from a 360C?

Power-on passwords can generally be removed by taking out the CMOS (aka, backup) battery. Some of the older systems also relied on inserting a jumper. This has been published in most HMMs. However, if there is also a supervisor password enabled at the same time, this can "brick" the system as it wo...
