Thanks guys, I just used my trusty x61t with the dock, it's a bit thicker than I like considering it's 2017 but it does the job and it costs me $0 since I already have a few laying around. Plus the sxga+ is still the best screen/size/ratio combo I've ever run into.

What's the best thinkpad or best laptop with a serial port. Company I consult with has lots of RS-232 equipment and the prolific usb serial sometimes doesn't work with some devices (though I may have been shipped a clone of a prolific chip from amazon).

I have the 6235 working with Bluetooth on my trip and x61t. I think I got it working on my x61t also. I did a guide some years ago, but I'm on my phone now and I'll post it from my desktop if needed.

You should be able to have 2 different dpi on 2 displays. Also use an addon like nosquint on your browser, let's you customize the page/text size etc.

I haven't read the entire thread but I've found you need to set displayport to 1.2 as 1.1 I don't think runs at 60hz. I have not tried any hdmi. You can also set custom resolutions in nvidia control panel.

I think you have to be on displayport 1.2 to get 4k at 60hz. I have this monitor and the default is displayport 1.1 which isn't enough. Also I don't think I have any hdmi cable that can run 4k at 60hz and only displayport with do that resolution.

How is the windows 10 experience 6 months later. Is there an easy upgrade path for this? I use it in a vm and find no improvement, probably going to stay with win7 for another 5 years. My uncle wants help going to win10 on his w530 when he visits this summer.

I don't keep up with what the best video card is, my current k2100m in my m4800 is pretty good. I'm just looking for one that's better than that. Must be a Dell bios video card, of if you've hacked some bios on it, I need it confirmed stable working on the m4800 with QHD+ screen. Thanks

I never got around to fixing it. I got one of ebay and upgraded everything, 32gb ram, 920xm the works and I ran into a pretty dishonest ebay seller screens. Never got it fixed one day when I have time I'll but right now it seems too time consuming.
