Well, I'm happy for you guys, but I don't think IBM is gonna to recall the first T43p models and fix the fan noise though (although they should). PS: I'm still very angry about the noise, and the thing which irritates me even more - IBM support rejects to recognize that the problem exists and they d...

Why do you think the price will drop so much till christmas? Couple of fresh models (from Samsung, Acer & ViewSonic - 6/8ms) have just appeared on the market. Reading some reviews (tomshardware I think or heise.de) the author stated that the price is very likely to drop 20% from its current level i...

Hmm... I can't say anything about MiniDock (I'd like to know it too actually), but what concerns the price of Dell 2405FPW in Austria - don't tell me you are buying this thing online at dell.at or at a local MediaMarkt store. e.g. have a look at this one: http://cgi.ebay.at/Dell-24-2405FPW-Flat-pane...

There is nothing to convience you of. Just a personal tip - do NOT buy T43 (even in case the price were the same). I think T43's is the worst T model ever... If you are so desperate, go for T42. So whenever I get the CPU at full load for a while the cpu gets very hot (60-75 C sometimes 80). The problem is the fan never get faster. I've heard the fan become a lot faster before just not when the cpu is at full load anymore. Edit: I have the 2686-DGU well, it what they call passive cooling......

Hey there, I'm about to buy an external widescreen monitor for my T43p, most probably the Dell 2005FPW 20" (external keyboard and mouse come as well, so the TP is gonna be a tower ;) as a notebook I plan to use it when I'm e.g. on the road). And this also explains why some people get a quiet T43 (if you get a T43 with the heat disappation unit tied nicely with the GPU) while some people get a noisy one. If this is the case, I would consider it a very serious problem and you may call me an optimist but IBM/Lenovo should call back such m...

Temperature and noise:[/b] The main factor holding me back from the T43 and opting for the T42 was the whole heat and noise issue that T43 users had been reporting. Well, I don't know if it is a result of my undervolting, or just a better constructed model, but I have no heat nor noise issues. My r...

Right, the authour of CHC plans to add fan control feature to his program, the only thing is, he wants to make a global one (for all the notebooks), so I do have doubts it'll be possible in the nearest future. What concerns Linux - yes, there is IBM-ACPI 'fan control', but it kinda sucks (at least o...
