Really? I would think the internal reader would be faster. I'm using a transcend TS16GSDHC6-S5W (S5W is the bundled USB reader) and get 15..20MB/s read and 13..18MB/s write using opensolaris/ZFS. Don't know about the internal sd reader as it is not supported yet. ZFS caches the write ops to get as ...

What about battery life ? It works great on a X41, frequency scaling works and battery life is on par with windows for the s...

Try to mount the iso image via Daemon Tools or other loopback adapter. If it is corrupted you'll know it right there without turning CDs into coasters. And if it works and you just want to install the software proceed from there.

I tried slax a few days ago. Like DSL it can fully load into memory and there are quite a few add-on modules to download.

It is a no brainer. I got firefox with java connected over wireless wpa2 on my x41. Boots from usb flash into memory under a minute.

I don't believe in upgrades, so I always uninstall and then proceed with the new version installation. For RnR I download the Large Enterprise version which is, oddly enough, much smaller than the full "consumer" version. Here, follow the 4 steps to the letter, all files to the same directory, and y...

WinDVD is installed when you select the "restore factory installation" from RnR and you have a DVD drive connected to the Thinkpad durin...

All partitions should be listed on the "Set schedule and preferences" page. Select "Back up your HD" and press the "preferences" button.

It can save the backups to the 2nd HD as well.
