Re: T60 - How would I do an LED mod?
The only way I know of is upgrading the 15" models by swapping out the original CCFL panel for an AFFS panel made by Hydis - HV150UX2-100. The pinout for the LCD is backwards compared to the original panels, and the best solution is to reverse the connector on the LCD cable by unsoldering it, and re...

Re: Internet Speed Test, who can you believe?
Once you start getting faster connection speeds, the commercial speed test websites become less reliable. When we test connections at the schools, we use iPerf3 and one of the listed servers that's as geographically close as possible. It's more consistent when testing connection speeds that approach...

I'll drop what I know, since nobody has chimed in so far. We deploy a ton of L and T series ThinkPads for our clients. We haven't been buying many 4th gen models since they're so new, but I can share some generalizations... The latest ThinkPads omit the Ethernet port on many models, most commonly th...

You may need to enable advanced mode in power manager. From there you can find the button to open up battery charge threshold settings.

It is an official driver, but it was quickly replaced with a new version that does not support 6 GHz.
Some people have said they got it to work for them, but I was not one of them. Not for a lack of trying either.

I was using the official 22.45.1.1 driver. I wasn't about to pay to download it from that website so I found it elsewhere.

FWIW, I never got that to work, for 6 GHz connections. Version 22.45
I reluctantly updated the T480 to Win11 and sure enough, it started working on 6 GHz then.

I put one in my T480. It works fine. Now that 6E APs are becoming more common, I've occasionally seen link speeds of 2.1 Gbps!

I haven't busted out my A22m in a while, so I can't recall if it can boot to USB media. It definitely can boot to floppy and CD though, assuming bootable media is being used.
Out of curiosity, what are you trying to boot to? If you make a Windows 9x boot disk floppy, will it boot to that?

I've got two sets for T30, XP and W2K. I'm not sure if both came from the CD stash I got from Bill or not but the date from the XP set indicates I got it in 2018, 3 years before I got the W2K set. I don't have a T30 to test either on, but I don't recall anyone mentioning they had issues with them. I...

The T450 has reached end-of-service so I cannot download software from Lenovo. Unless someone who already has the Windows 10 recovery software provides it to me, it is not likely that I will be able to include it.

Re: New Cars Tracking Information
The Energi's curb weight is a tad under 4000 lbs. The standard models without all the hybrid or EV tech (basic 4 banger) weigh about 500 lb less. Bear in mind though, most people nowadays are buying SUVs and trucks, most of which weigh closer to 5000 lbs than 3500-4000 lbs. Heck, even "sportscars" a...

Re: New Cars Tracking Information
We got a 2017 Fusion Energi just before the used car market bubble started to inflate at the end of 2020. Re: New Cars Tracking Information
Cars producing and providing data is nothing new. Even back in the '90s cars had the capability of outputting quite a bit of data as it related to vehicle functions. In fact I use data on some of my older cars for fine-tuning of the powertrain programming. It was, in my opinion, the end of the "gold...

Re: W701/W701DS Whitelist Bios
The AX200 is WiFi 6 - dual band (2.4 and 5 GHz) operation with HE support for 802.11ax. The AX210 is a major step up to WiFi 6E, because it is a tri-band WNIC and supports the new 6 GHz band. Wider channel widths and better throughput without the congestion on 2.4 and 5 GHz.

Re: charger says 65W on one side and PD 33W on another. But T480 says it's got lower wattage than original.
That charger looks like it can provide up to 33W per port, for a total up to 65W. It will probably charge the laptop with it off but you'll see degraded performance while using it when plugged in.
You will need a 65W USB-C charger.

Let me know what you find out, if anything, as I too think that would be useful. I rarely use more than 30-40% of my phone's battery in a day so keeping it at 70 or 80% would be beneficial. Lithium battery chemistry/technology has come a long way in the last 10-15 years, but the most basic principle...

Re: T14 Gen2 Intel: left USB-A only at USB2 speeds with ext. USB SSD (10GB/s) as Win10-boot drive
Back when USB 3.0 was brand new and Windows 7 was still mainstream, I remember having to integrate USB 3.0 drivers into the installation medium when writing bootable USB flash drives to install from. It's a long shot but maybe something similar is happening with the OS not loading the SuperSpeed USB...

Saying it won't work without being willing to try it doesn't make sense to me.. Sure there are some inherent possible differences between parts and such in the T530 but it'll get you a lot closer to factory than other (or from-scratch) installs. But at the end of the day it's your call on how you wa...

It's possible. X230 or T530 are both worth a shot IMO.
FWIW, Windows 8 will probably still install and activate despite the 7 COA, especially if it was a downgrade license.
