That was the beginning of the end: shallow chiclet keyboards, crippled layouts, internal batteries, and now they’ve finally crossed the last line, a ThinkPad without ...

Re: New ThinkPads BIOS Supervisor Password Graphic
I don't have that machine but go into BIOS/Config and at the bottom of that screen, change Setup UI from "Graphical" to "Simple text". No guarantee but give it a try. If you don't like it, or doesn't work, change it back. I've tried that .. change only main BIOS screens. password prompt continues a...

New ThinkPads BIOS Supervisor Password Graphic
Hey everyone, I recently acquired a ThinkPad T14 Gen 3, and while setting up the BIOS supervisor password, I encountered something unexpected. Previously, on older ThinkPad models, upon booting up the machine, I would only see the graphic of a lock and prompt, but now, after setting up the BIOS supe...

Re: W520 locked somehow
I strongly advise you to unlock that BIOS first. Get the W520 manual from the HMM link at the top of this page. BIOS chip location here . But while still PW-locked, you can put a SSD in it. Then boot from USB and install the OS from another USB-drive or CD/DVD. When done try to boot from that SSD. ...
