Re: Shocking redesign: ThinkPad laptop without a TrackPoint!

A ThinkPad without a TrackPoint, is not a ThinkPad This was inevitable ever since Lenovo started destroying ThinkPads with the X240. That was the beginning of the end: shallow chiclet keyboards, crippled layouts, internal batteries, and now they’ve finally crossed the last line, a ThinkPad without ...

Re: New ThinkPads BIOS Supervisor Password Graphic

I don't have that machine but go into BIOS/Config and at the bottom of that screen, change Setup UI from "Graphical" to "Simple text". No guarantee but give it a try. If you don't like it, or doesn't work, change it back. I've tried that .. change only main BIOS screens. password prompt continues a...

Hello! I recently purchased a used ThinkPad T14, and I have encountered an issue with the Supervisor Password (SVP) setup. After attempting a few passwords, I am now facing an error code E0199. Re: W520 locked somehow

I strongly advise you to unlock that BIOS first. Get the W520 manual from the HMM link at the top of this page. BIOS chip location here . But while still PW-locked, you can put a SSD in it. Then boot from USB and install the OS from another USB-drive or CD/DVD. When done try to boot from that SSD. ...

Indeed it works fine.. but, if you run any tool to check the memory...
