Re: Thinkpad 760EL keyboard issues

Please try to disassemble keyboard covers and check condition of circuit boards and contacts/connectors. These units, after more than 20 years, suffer from degradation and oxidation of the contacts, which ultimately leads to irreversible damage to the keyboard. I own at least six 760-series units, a...

I'd recommend you to look for one with MITSU label on it. And in regard to the knockoff argument - most of newly produced non-OEM products will be at least as good as 10 year old OEM one.

Re: Lenovo screen totally black after change

If your laptop was on and you reconnected eDP connector there's nearly 100% chance that you just blown the display backlight fuse during this procedure. This happened due to contact of power supply pins with a connectors cover which works as an shielding/grounding potential. This causes short circui...

Re: how do I replace the T460 backlight fuse?

As far as I remember the backlight fuse in T450 had a symbol of F7 and it was located nearby eDP connector on the reverse side of motherboard. Due to that motherboard has to be removed to replace it. I'd expect that fuse in T460 is located in exact same spot since both platforms are pretty similar. ...

For such a die-hard thinkpad Fan like yourself I recommend you to try SK-8855 or even 8845. I have both variants in my collection and I have been using a new version for over two years. It's light, portable, keys have proper response and trackpoint works great - far better than these you can find in...

The screens that are compatible are so because they are specifically programmed to be compatible with the adapter board, which identifies itself as the LCD to the laptop. So I don't think that screen would work. What do you mean by that? The EDID file in the displays EEPROM has been modified so the...

Please stick to 20V/90W Lenovo chargers. Charging time-characteristic is defined in laptops/battery firmware so in your case using power adapter with higher wattage output does not make any sense.

Well if you can afford to buy P71 and you do not mind the size/weight of this monstrosity there's no point to discuss on this topic. The problem is not related to the modules but poorly addressed TOLUD. This problem has been widely discussed on this forum, please check posts related to 2503 Adv.Dock. As far as I remember there's some kind of workaround but yet I cannot remind myself the solution of the problem.
