The 1920x1200 screen is why I got this used W500. But the brightness and contrast were equally bad among the the W500s I had to pick from. Thinkpad noob here. As far as I can ascertain, "Turbo Memory" is Intel marketroid speak for a cache to R/W to/from the main drive. I too am running a 4GB PNY DDR3 module from Best Buy in my W500. It's listed as 1066/1333Mhz. Originally I used it in my Toshiba L645D, which did not play well with the two previous PNY modules before this one.
