Does anyone have a link for the T60/R60 recovery discs? I'd love to download them, and I can Paypal tonight.

New IBM Lenovo ThinkPad R60

All I am pleased to announce I have taken delivery of a ThinkPad R60 in pristine condition. I have already reloaded a factory installation of Windows XP and added Service Pack 3 for good measure. I am fully aware this machine is capable of running Windows 7, but XP is a stalwart. This machine also h...

Have you tried turning off your antivirus and then connecting to the hotspot?

I have had a similar thing happen which I think was my Avast stopping the connection.

Your antivirus might be stopping this because you are using XP.
I don't use antivirus.

Re: T41 WPA2 issues?

As long as you apply the NO-1802 hack, you can install any wifi-card that fits in that slot. As mentioned before, your best (and fastest) bet is the TP Link 861N. Up to 300Mbps Cheaper/decent ones with WPA2 include the above Intel 2200BG. Up only to 54Mbps. I've used the Intel 2200BG before, the on...

Click on the MTM link at the top of this page. Type in the 7 digit text after "Product ID:" This will tell you the config that the machine shipped from the factory. Do you know how far back this MTM lookup works? I tried looking up my ThinkPad 600E and got no results (2645 8AU) http://sdfox7.com/60...

Re: Thinking about buying a T42

With my T41 I managed to install Win 98 SE successfully and I basically got everything to work because Lenovo has most of the drivers on their website. It was still a struggle though at times but I won't connect it to the internet though. Love the old welcome to windows sounds when it finishes boot...

Re: Trying to find a clear value for ThinkPad T23 (Large images)

I purchased a pristine T23 last year for just over $100. I had been searching for a while and was willing to pay ~$150-200 for a pristine and working T23 since they are now close to 20 years old and becoming more rare. I think that people who are looking for a modern production machine are not going...

Re: Thinking about buying a T42

I just pulled out my T42 and T41 from storage which are both in mint condition. They have the 7500 GPU and run amazingly cool. The T41 has Tiny XP and the T42 has XP SP3. I have never had a problem with the 7500 and anything more demanding I would run on my T43s. If you are going to buy something o...

Re: T41 WPA2 issues?

I've never had success connecting my T40 or T41 to WPA2 with the integrated 2100 card. I don't think the 2100 cards are compatible at all with WPA2.

I've been using Netgear USB N600 on these machines instead.

I tried to Stretch/Skew the picture in MS Paint, but designating 1024 x 768 pixels just cut the edges off. Oh well, you'll have to scroll over. Instead of the outdated M$ Paint, may I suggest to use Irfanview for editing pictures? With a click of the button it can change the pic-size for you. (Afte...

Re: Practically unusable Google Maps on T60! Why?

Just a suggestion, you may have a better experience using Google Earth, I use it on XP with my T41 with no issues. The T41 is older and has much lower specs than the T60. Google Earth requires minimum XP SP3 to communicate properly with servers. You can try one of the following flavors: Google Earth...

Regarding my ThinkPad T23, does anyone know if PCMCIA cards definitely perform faster than USB 1.1 on wireless internet? Here is my new 600E I purchased from Neil in the Marketplace.

On Thursday I received the ThinkPad 600E that I purchased from Neil. 366MHz Pentium II, 160MB RAM, 6GB hard drive. I am very pleased with the condition for an 18 year old laptop. This was manufactured September 1999. I loaded Windows 98 (Windows 98 takes up less than a GB of hard drive space). I up...

you guys are also forgetting the very important component called "vRAM" or video ram. You get a whopping 16 or 32MB of vRAM to play with, and thats barely functional for loading a couple high res JPEGs, nevermind entire web pages from 2017. The age of the A31/T30, the WWW doesn't look even close to...

Well, I wouldn't use that machine for Netflix because standard definition really compromises the high resolution screen of the A30p/A31p models. I personally use the A3x machines as Spotify playback, and sometimes Microsoft word, thanks to their amazing speakers and keyboards. On top of that you ca...

Re: A31 is still usable.

I don't think it's fair to blame the processor. It may be old but to me the real issue is that you only have 768MB RAM. YouTube by itself will take around 512MB. RAM has nothing to do with it. These tasks are clearly CPU bound. My T23 has 1GB RAM and Firefox ESR 45 (I have two IBM factory drives, c...

I got inconsistent results on Speedtest using my school's wifi. The page also seems to be poorly written/coded.
