Re: ultrabay hdd adapter for T430

This from the website does not have the hook to keep ultrabay adapter in place. Search again for your thinkpad model if possible. Get one from ebay that is very specific for thinkpad. Only 2 heights, one is 9.5mm and other one is 12.5mm. That all. SATA adapters to dock the HD in optical bay does not...

Can get northwood 3.4 which is socket 478 with HT for your computer. Had 2.8C HT with great results on dimension 8300 (oops! threw that out by mistake as this is one of rarest models released with high end chipset.)

Re: Help! I need *another* new ThinkPad!

I do happen to have a fully upgraded T420 in use, go for T420 with i5-2520m over anything else and later upgrade CPU to i7 and 8GB or 16GB DDR3 memory. I still advise against T61 anyway, I know of my friend with his T500 with GPU and it is fully upgraded to 8GB also still pushing it even on 10. Chee...

Not to mention that Windows 7 is not supported. The T25 does not support Windows 7. Not MS. Correct, This is for skylake and later processor (some skylake support), kabylake will not support 7 for any reasons especially updates. Re: Help! I need *another* new ThinkPad!

do you realize that T60 series is very very limited now on capabilities? even easy to get models with x1400 GPU is easily beaten by haswell/broadwell integrated GPU found in i3, i5 and i7. Also video decoding is much better on newer processors to help with battery runtime. I have a broadwell celeron...

Again, the question was asked, is the power adapter genuine? Lenovo branded in plastic and on label on back? And I do not trust the strange sounding battery brand. The battery pack I usually see that works most of time is not branded generic if forced to purchase one if new OEM battery can not be ha...

You do have dust build up inside the heatsink's fan assembly. Take the fan assembly off the heatsink (requires cutting off the melted "nail" heads plastic and slit the foil where heatsink fins meets the fan housing) then lift the fan to access heatsink fins to get dust build up removed, I use pieces...

In PS/2 (1987 thru 1992ish) era floppy drives reason for the failure of floppy test during POST boot up is heads did not cycle back and forth properly due to optical gate that interrupts the optical slit beam of IR signal is not cycled. Can you hear the floppy head seeking during POST nicely at boot up? If not, that's your problem, old grease in these tend to thicken up so much that is now practically glue, that will not allow the lead screw stepper unable to turn the lead screw. See if can clean old grease off the head screw that ...
