I'll take a look, I think I just threw a Latitude E4300 in the recycle pile that had one. It should work just fine; we just aged it out.

*Nevermind, it looks like it was a P9400

FS: Brand new Yoga 260. Still in box.

Brand new Yoga 260. Still in the box. I bought this, then picked up a really good deal on a Lenovo Thinkpad P50, so I haven't even opened the box on this one. I just haven't got it sold either. Thinkpad Yoga 260 Core i5-6200U 8GB DDR4 SO-DIMM (upgradable to 16GB) 256GB SSD (upgradable to larger M.2 ...

Re: Lenovo appears to still be messing with SATA speeds

Ok, looks like a limitation with the OEM drive(s) they're using.

850 EVO got a 465 for the read, and a 425 for write. Still lower than I expected, but much higher than the stock drive.

Re: Lenovo appears to still be messing with SATA speeds

I know Sandforce tends to be "bad". Samsungs, though, do not. Even my old 120GB 840 EVO in my desktop, and 256 840 Pro in my old laptop, have 500MB/s write speeds. the 850 Pro should be in that range, not half that. I'm not running Lenovo's image. I'm running one I installed on my own, page file is ...

Lenovo appears to still be messing with SATA speeds

My new Yoga 12 has a PM851, which I understand to be the OEM 850 Pro. However, the write speeds with ATTO and Crystal both show it being stuck at 250MB/s, while reads are in the 500s where I'd expect them. I just tested a work Yoga 12 with an intel 180: write stuck at 210MB/s. Yoga S1 with whatever ...

There's no switch in the tube that could tell whether or not the pen's in there. So, no.

I have one that is either Kingston or Intel. I think it's Intel, SandForce chipset. I'll check it when I get home. It's a 60GB though, I'm pretty sure.

At work, we cleaned out a closet, and found a bunch of AC adapters for laptops we don't have any more. Some are labeled Lenovo, some are labeled IBM. they're the 20V 90W AC adapters in use from Core Duo up through at least the Sandy Bridge generations. $15/per, shipped. I have a total of 6. Re: Reformatting to 8.1 tonight; BIOS to UEFI changes?

I ran DBAN on the SSDs and let Windows take care of the rest.

Looks like everything is happy now...other than a few non-Lenovo apps that aren't 8.1 compatible yet.

Reformatting to 8.1 tonight; BIOS to UEFI changes?

Now that 8.1 is out and downloaded, I'm going to reformat my X230t. I also plan on changing over to UEFI boot. Is there anything else that should be done with that change? (I've read something about MBR vs GUID when using UEFI, but can't remember what it said, as it was several months ago. Should I ...

The new keyboard feels surprisingly good to me, although there are some changes I'm not fond of:

I miss the pause key
I don't care for where the Print Screen key is
I don't really care, but it's missing the right click key (as is my work Latitude E6420)

Re: Unexpectedly a Thinkpad owner again.

When I couldn't access the warranty info website, I called in to tech support to see when the warranty expired on the device. He gave me the 2015 date, so at least they're seeing more than the 1 year. I hit up the old SlickDeals forum, and it looks like many of them had it knock down to 1 year. I gu...

Re: Unexpectedly a Thinkpad owner again.

Looks like I'm putting in an RMA request. There's a crack in the corner that went from a line to a chip missing from the palm rest, like it was dropped. Since it's never been anything other than gently sat down on a desk, lap, or carpet, I figure it's just a manufacturing defect. No big deal, I call...

Any idea why your boot screen says Lenovo where mine says Thinkpad? I set mine up for that (I had to reenable hibernate) and while the screen popped up after showing the blue windows logo (which I didn't see there) for a second, I got the graphic...but the mouse wouldn't move for another 3 seconds. ...

4GB should be a single DIMM.

Odds are the 8GB will be 2x 4GB DIMMs unless you specifically ordered the single stick.
