If Lenono would get their act together and put on a classic keyboard a la T25, then they would stand a much better chance.
They never learn...
Baby steps.

They have, at least, finally, lost the non-optional numeric keypad in this 15" debut.

The T550 crams a non-optional numeric pad into the same space the the T530 used to plant a non-optional chiclet keyboard. The latter I can tolerate. The keypad, however, placed by some nameless, faceless, committee of cupertino-worshipping corporate "design" nimrods, is truly the last straw. Good th...

20$ for the sanyo, 30€ for the sony.

I already know to who my money is going to go now eheh

The market has never been tested.

I would nothing better than an integrated, unlocked, carrier-agnostic 3G/4G/LTE radio as an option, so long as it has a physical [mechanical] "off" switch.

Interesting that they're considering TrackPoint-only. I think that'd be bad for sales, even if it's my actual preference. Through the T41(?), the trackpad was non-non-optional. I never understood why IBM/Lenovo didn't feature 90-degree connectors; the straight connectors permit too much strain on the cable, which eventually fractures ... and the fireworks that result are quite harrying.

The Ultrabook 10 keyboard appears to be lacking a trackpoint, and the click-pad buttons are merely red stripes.

I say appears, because none of the reviews bother to offer up any real photographs.

Same here. However, I do think it was unwise for Microsoft to make such drastic changes so suddenly, because many users (especially older ones) couldn't adapt to these changes so quickly. Vista is cheap, and will give you three more years of MS support.

As for Office, I've purchased 2K10 PKC's for $40 locally, they're about $60-70 online.
Used 2K7 distributions vary, but seem to range from $50-100.
