If HP still uses Synaptics I see no reason you cannot use Thinkpad Ultranav drivers on the HPs, when we can previously use HP Synaptics drivers on Thinkpads.

Re: 1920x1200 with Z60m in Windows 7 32 bit

Yep, Z60m uses the Sonoma chipset the same as T43, R52, X41. I'm surprised it refuses to support WUXGA in Windows using even the Dell driver for a Sonoma laptop (Dell D810) configured ATI X600, Windows XP, and SHARP WUXGA. I'm more surprised the Z60m refused to do anything with the SHARP WUXGA. I ha...

1920x1200 with Z60m in Windows XP

I found a driver for Dell D810 available in the following Sonoma config. - ATI X600 - SHARP WUXGA - Windows XP The driver: https://www.dell.com/community/Laptops-General/ATI-Mobility-Radeon-X600-driver-for-Latitude-D810-for-NT/td-p/1048272 I now have Windows XP installed in the Z60m. That's a really smart place to put the LED indicators since you can see them with the lid open or closed.

Ok

You have to go the Windows Settings App, Devices, Touchpad, and set the Touchpad Sensitivity to Lightest. https://www.digitalcitizen.life/sites/d ... hpad_3.png

No prob. Once acquired a T410 with BT and the FPR disabled there. I imagine an admin may want them disabled for security purposes.

Re: T60P Startup Anomaly

My question is different. If I get a W700, can I clone my T60P HD onto it, since hot swapping is not possible? Yes I clone the HDD / SSD using a bootable USB flash drive. Sysprep removes chipset drivers, so the system will boot on any machine. some time ago, erroneously, put the disk from the T500 ...

About expresscard devices, I got an expresscard to SD/XC adapter for my T500 but it only worked after disabling PCI Express power management in the BIOS. When I tried it in the T61 I could not get it to work reliably, also of note that setting is completely missing in the T61 BIOS. If you want to fl...

If you want to build a 14" Frankenpad, just buy a 14" T60 lid. The bases are functionally exactly the same, except the T61 has improved ventilation. See: http://www.notebookreview.com/notebookr ... ts-review/

Re: Wireless USB and Turbo Memory?

Turbo Memory I find causes a few second delay in POSTing that negates any boot time improvement. Just keeping your system lean will give you better performance than the Turbo Mem hopes to achieve. Bloated system + Turbo Mem is slower than a lean system, and this only applies to HDDs. An SSD will mak...

They should not even be a new series. There are historically E530 - E535, E540 - E545, E550 - E555. They are just T and X series clones and should be named as such: T485 and X285.

Re: Replacings T530's screen

You are right the N156HGE-L11 was used in Dell laptops. It has very high viewing angles and is VERY bright, 300 nits, very good for an LED screen. The colors are a bit oversaturated, it has very strong greens/yellows, no red/blue tint that I notice. When I installed mine it only had screw holes on t...

Manipulating with power attached is 90% guaranteed to blow the LED backlight fuse! So disassemble with your AC adapter and battery...

Re: Way to get a T420 HDD clone to run in a T430?

Try uninstalling a bunch of drivers first then move the drive over.

Also see if you can run Sysprep and move the drive before the reinstalling drivers stage.

The T420 drive must be a 7mm to fit in the T430 bay.
