No, images on the display are very visible, you can also see the colors, but everything has a green tint and the tint is visible even with the booting text.
Can you take a picture?

I'd check the LCD assembly to check for a disconnected ribbon

An OEM 4-cell slim battery(X61s) got me about 20-30 minutes with Linux so that sounds about right.

Thank you for responding! It good to know it has a real possibility of working. Would you think a TFT LCD is an upgrade or just lateral replacement? As long as it's a full unit, I don't see any reason it won't be a direct swap since inverters ate also swapped and matched.

Careful, some batteries from earlier T series won't work with later models (notwithstanding the fact that they physically will fit). Double check the T410 battery will work in the T430. It will fit, it will not work without an EC mod. If this is something that interests you...DO NOT UPDATE THE BIOS...

Battery optimization X201?

I checked powertop on Ubuntu 18.04 on my X201 and its running a pretty consistent 15-20W which drains my worn out 9 cell in about 3-3.5hrs. Any way to extend that? (I'm trying out Linux....again, coming in knowing 1000x more linux, I can really see the appeal. Not switching yet...but as a secondary/...

Very nice specimen indeed. Definitely the 15" model. If you want an LED panel, there is one that is almost a drop-in replacement... the LCD cable and inverter needs some modification to work with the panel though, and the panels (HV150UX2-100) are pretty hard to find nowadays at a reasonable price ...

I'm not sure about the X210 but in the interest of not accidentally killing a such low number board...I would recommend getting a cheap PC power supply and shorting the green and black wires to turn it on. Then you have as much +5V and +12V as you could ever want or need.

I was in the display settings of Ubuntu 18.04 on my X201(TN, 1280x800 LED), and it allowed me to do 120Hz. I did a quick mouse cursor test with the slow-mo on my phone and it seems like its perceptively smoother? Does this monitor actually support this?

Both are knockoffs and really should be avoided if possible. The cells are surely going to be complete garbage, and especially given its a power hungry T400, your at the draw of a lottery to see if you get even a half-usable battery. Get yourself an OEM one and save yourself the hassle.
