That's part of the LCD module I doubt you'll find that as a separate piece outside of buying the whole LCD.

Re: 750c repair

Thanks. Yea.I think same too. If you really want to test if you have another laptop with a CCFL backlight, you could plug it into the 750 and see if it works. Usually when CCFL lamps die, they're toast...no light at all. The fact that there is a flash says likely it'd the board. Also the inverter n...

So what do reckon likely is the problem and needing replacement? CCFL lamp or the board attached to it?
I'd say the board.

Re: 750c repair

Touch it and if you get a nasty shock it's working? (Wouldn't recommend it) EDIT: Also check if you are in AC or DC volts. I don't know which one the CCFL uses. If it is either, it should read "ERROR" , "OVER", or "OL" if it is too high. Shouldn't be reading 0. lol actually first thing came to my h...

Re: 750c repair

Check it right at the CCFL tube with your multimeter at the maximum voltage(not sure if AC or DC, might be AC) setting. It should be around 800-1200V on the output. Also if you can find another CCFL tube and hook it up to the inverter, see if that works too. didn't realise they get this high voltag...

Re: X240/X250 curious Fn-key behavior

Well for the metal bar it looks like a key stabilizer, but it would make no sense on a 1 unit key. Mechanism also looks clean. Did you try leaving the keycap off for a few days and seeing if the same problem results just by pressing the dome on the off chance the keyboard isn't pressing the dome rig...

Hi there everyone, I'm new on these forums. Welcome aboard! Being a 28 year old I have fond memories of playing Quake on my father's lap at his IBM Thinkpad back in 96. These days I'm using a Lenovo P50 daily for my work in 3D content creation. Today I finally purchased my first vintage IBM Thinkpa...

Fake listings on the Lenovo outlet?

Has anyone noticed that when ever they search for a machine on the outlet, there is always a machine at the top with some really nice specs and it sells for like 25-33% of the original price but it is always sold out. Then there are just the normal machines below it for the 50-75% of the original pr...

It's like, sort of enforced, when someone feels like enforcing it. Apparently, not everyone has high-speed internet, go figure. Some people also just don't like (many) inline images. Most likely 1-2 small pics will go unnoticed / unenforced. If you feel like posting more / larger images - please pu...

It looks like someone worked very hard to spread the paste around the die, and not on the die itself. They probably took the bag spreading the paste method a tad too far  ! Lenovo, the thermal paste goes on the CPU.

I was pretty sure that my T430's 65 idle/80 browsing/95 load temps were pretty high even though it was the dGPU model. Well I know why they were so high...Lenovo just decided to *almost* entirely skip putting thermalpaste! (click for big picture) https://i.imgur.com/61TLbPfm.jpg https://i.imgur.com/...

I don't know, because increased temps are usually associated with overclocking...and dust jammed in the fan!

Re: x301 CPU upgrade (yes, we're talking soldering)

Ok, first things off the bat, the unit uses the 10W TDP SU9400/9600 CPUs. The X300 uses the SL7100 CPU / SU9300 CPU(sources differ) but still 10 or 12W. So cooling will be an issue. So the socket is the BGA956, not really a limiting factor...given you have the soldering gear. There are CPUs made for...

Windows 7 is a perfectly capable operating system with less redundancy, intrusion, and reliance on the cloud than 8 and 10. And will remain so until people and companies stop developing for it. At the current rate, not for a long time. And I bet the same XP tricks we did 5 years ago to get stuff to...

Like I've said in the last few posts, 3D scanners are total sh*t. That's really ridiculous. Just got a new wired external keyboard for my Thinkpad. The laptop with the keyboard are the same stuff, why it doesn't work then?.. Simple.
