All I'm finding on ebay is the 1600x900 version of the T440s. But they do have the HD screens available. Is there any soldering involved when swapping out the LCD screens?
No.

Re: My experience with IPS panels, from T60 through x220/230 until the T460

Ouch, this is quite a hit :/ 1. A31p with UXGA IPS screen. Great screen in its time, I do own it / don't use it much. Got a bit dimmer, but still all right. No white spots, no dead pixels. 2. A42p and its UXGA IPS panel - got a typical aging issues, but nothing dramatic. 3. R50p - see above. This o...

Re: W600, T600?

They will most likely keep the screen size as a naming mechanism. They replaced Thinkpad 13 (for 13") with L380 so I doubt X12, T14, and T15 will happen. This would also present the issue of generations being left out of the name. I predict X20, T40, T50 will happen like P50, P70. So will the X20 a...

Re: 850 vs 701c?

I wish you even more luck finding a SCSI to ATA adapter, since CF cards use the ATA spec. Expecting it to work on a SCSI bus would be like expecting SATA to work in an XT. In the modern day of cheap, high gate, low power FPGAs and CPLDs, these kinds of interfacing problems are within the reach of a...

I have Windows 10 on my X201 and I love it. With an SSD it boots and runs faster than my wife's $700 Lenovo that she bought last year.
A CPU that has more voltage than a pair of earbuds is always nice, and its winter too. Crank up AIDA64 and let the heat pour out.

Does anyone ave pictures of the Thinkpad 500 motherboard. I want to know if the CMOS battery is easily replaceable because it I found a Lexmark SE10 on eBay that uses the 99% of the TP 500 parts and I dont want to deal with another CMOS debacle that 2 of my other machine have had.

It's about as plausible as a Mythbusters plausible.

I'll be holding on to W7 as long as I can. I use too many Windows only programs that just can't be emulated in Wine. Windows 10 won't fly with me, and that start menu that belongs to Windows ME!

T500 keeps frying OS's.

I have a few HDDs laying around with various copies of windows on them. I put all 3 in and they all caused a BSOD of 0x7B on startup on XP & 7. Now none of the drives will boot in any other machine without the 0x7B error. Tried AHCI & ATA compatibility mode and stuff.

My Dell Poweredge 400SC(2004) had SATA. The drives and cables were quirky because the cable was connected to both the power and data port as a hige connector but the power port wasnt acutally connected. The drives were the last to use molex for power but SATA power worked fine.

T430s 1600x900 panel
T410 LCD cable 1280x800p (tested to work on T430s panel)
