Re: T430 shut down problem

True point on British cars, should have thought about that and bunched it with the NorthStar motor, but it was the first one I thought of. Atleast for desktops, I run my unit 24/7 too, but I have a huge A/C sized cooler on mine that would probably still work even without any paste. 6 core 3.7GHz and...

Re: T430 shut down problem

To each his own - but too often I see people recommend "refreshing" the thermal paste before even bothering to inquire that it's related to the problem. That's just bad advice in my book. What you call "Wasteful" I call protecting my investment. I definitely agree with this. Thermal paste doesn't r...

What is that greenish bar above the F keys on the 760E? Looks like some sort of LCD.
It is. The 760 and 770 used LCDs as indicators. Many laptop from the early-mid 90s used this as a cheap and easy way as status indicators. IBM used this technique as far back as the L40SX laptop from 1991.

Its either SD or SDHC. Doesn't support SDXC.

SD-2GB limit, a few rare cards came out with 4.
SDHC-32GB limit
SDXC-2TB limit.

I don't know if the Z61t is SD or SDHC but my guess is probably SDHC.

My thoughts exactly. R60 was offered with a non-IPS 15" SXGA+ panel, which would have been much cheaper to swap in during the heyday of that generation.
There wouldn't be any day of the week I wouldn't easily pay the difference to get FlexView.

We've had the power to push the amount of pixels on an X1 Talbet for years now. It's not a bottleneck. Also, comparing an Android tablet to a Windows laptop/tablet is about the same as comparing a whiteboard to a smartboard. May look the same on the surface but two completely different tools. Now te...

Just buy an Atrix 4G dock. Use a USB-C to Mini HDMI and you have a keyboard, screen, and battery all integrated into a small formfactor. Sure it's not a Thinkpads but thinkpads are for getting work done, not dally wandering on an oversized cellphone. Whatever it takes to swap the RPi here with your ...

OK, looks like switch to R61i would be the most pragmatic way to go. Or spend some more money an buy T500/T510 with 1920 x 1080.

Cheers,
A.
T500 came with a 16:10 display or 1920x1200.
T510/20/20 came with a 16:9 display or 1920x1080.

1) I'm assuming you mean only cable, since inverters don't come in LED backlight machines.

2) There should be no reason it isn't a direct swap, same resolution, same formfactor, same machine.

There is the 380E. And the only difference is the 380ED has a faster processor and a bigger HDD.

One off-topic observation: both docking stations have dvd drives in them, but the used one has a drive made in 2000, and the NOS dock has a drive made in 2004. The older DVD drive is a LOT heavier, there really is a huge difference. I wonder if the old drives were over-built, the technology just wa...

Ok, for Mini HDMI to DVI, depending on what you are doing there is something called HDCP which is an encrypted video signal. I found other CS09 machines to be fine. Never had an issue on any of my T420, T430s, or T520 units.

There's one on eBay right now
