365CD vs 365XD tell apart?

Is there a way to tell the difference between a 365CD and 365XD just by looking at the Laptop and not powering it on?

The Ribbon UI is amazing.
Maybe I suck.
Nah, I agree with you TPFanatic. I love the old version of Paint more than the UI Ribbon by far. Also like the better color choice of old Paint compare to the dull, washed out color choice of the UI Ribbon. Opinions are opinions.

Re: Thinkpad R61 Upgrades Questions?

The 15" either widescreen or not has much better upgradability. 1440x900 max resolution on 14" 1920x1200 or 2048x1536 on 15" T61p Planar can go into both 15" units for a dedicated GPU vs. Only Intels Intergrated which wasnt good for much of anything besides displaying basic graphics, unlike the 720p...

Re: Microsoft Paint to be killed off after 32 years

I use the Vista version of Paint even though I run Windows 7 since the ribbon UI sucks. Paint is great since it's fast, light, and simple. For artistic editing I use Gimp now. I use paint.net for all my work now. I remember when I was no older than 8 abd I sat down for aout 6 hours on the T42p and ...

Re: Thinkpadders Rejoice (*LARGE PICS*)

Personally I don't care much about ratio, just vertical pixels. Anything less than 1000 feels cramped. 1280x1024, 1400x1050, 1680x1050, 1920x1080 are all OK with me for 12" screens. Anything less than 1000 is absolutely worthless for *my* needs, not just cramped and I would *really* like 1200, d a ...

Re: Thinkpad R61 Upgrades Questions?

Since you clearly have some cash floating around, hop your self on eBay and pick up a T9900 or Q9000 processor. OP would need a different modded BIOS along with a pinmod to use any of the CPUs in question... As for the "better" CPU...a T9300/9500, but it really won't be a huge performance upgrade. ...

1: Significant performance increase
2: Significant money saved on heater bill
3: Without a dedicated GPU, rendering will be difficult and slow for you.

If it mentions more than 1 FRU in the title, avoid it. It means they have no clue what the product actually is.

Country is unimportant, keyboard MANUFACTURER is important! Choice of THREE different ones!
Well, this should help with finding the manufacturer:

AFAIK The X200 keyboard and T60 keyboard are almost identical.

Different FRUs for different system configs. Check under the RAM for a sticker. Dont make my mistake and by the WRONG FRU. It just plain wont boot.

Re: T420 16gb RAM success stories? Will ECC (or "registered") work?

IIRC, "EDD RAM" is also called "server RAM" and is designed for use in servers. This because the average server, sitting near sea level, will have 4 memory errors each year from cosmic ray hits. Honest. It gets much worse at altitude. So, real servers use 9-bit ECC RAM instead of conventional 8-bit...

Microcenter and B&H come to mind in the tristate area. Any prosumer/professional store should have one. Best buy may or may not have one. Most consumer stores dont have them.

Do note that the extra display isn't IPS - there are some IPS panels with the right size listed on Panelook out there but nobody knows if they'll actually work, and the GPU in W70x isn't upgradable. (there's also a nice 17.0 WUXGA panel, but good luck finding them..) They're awesome machines and I'...

For the A31p, are internet browsers also faster in Windows 7 than in XP? I haven't touched W7 with an A31p in years. The result is that ...
