Re: Win 7 Audio Driver For T23?

The sound and infrared drivers came preloaded with Windows Vista, but removed in Windows 7 SP1. Digging the drivers from the installation of Windows Vista solves the problem. The video driver is gonna be painful, as it doesn't even play well with hardware acceleration in Windows 7 (even Windows 7 Mi...

Re: Win 7 Audio Driver For T23?

The most I've got away with in the past is using a Vista driver in Win 7. Well as some of the only ppl using win 7 on T23, I can tell you I just used the driver that came with a clean non-OEM installation of a Windows Vista SP2 ultimate (Chinese) and it worked just fine. same can be said for infrar...

Re: T41 thin white line on right edge of LCD

i had a similar issue with a Dell inspiron 600m before on the bottom edge of the LCD, but it only appears when the resolution is not set to 1024x768. From what I see from your issue, it seems like it's either the screen or the cables fault. It will grow more and more of it and eventually renders the...

Re: WTB: Long Fan For T42P

This came to me with a short fan so the graphics chip is not covered. This is why I think it boots up then shuts down. My concern is will the long fan from the T43p have the same screw pattern and bolt right in? Oh no. Stop using the computer immediately, otherwise your GPU will be destroyed. I ass...

Re: WTB: Long Fan For T42P

Hi I have a bunch of long fans from T43p (some repaired with re-lubrication).
EDIT: I do have a T42p fan as well. In comparison, the fan sound is quieter (And presumably doesn't spin as fast as the TDP of these non-Sonoma 400Mhz FSB Pentium M's are lower), but the GPU heatpipe is much thinner

Re: Looking for a 600E Palmrest

600 or 600E palmrest could be completely cleaned off the rubber paint, and looks great this way; el-sahef tried it out and it's fantastic. Same for lid. Note that this works just for 600 and 600e, not for 600x (there was a different painting method for this), and requires lots of time and nerves. S...

Re: Looking for a 600E Palmrest

For the palmrest, if you can't find anything, you can try to remove the paint completely and spray a new layer on it with one of those flat type black paint. This is only if you cannot find anything, as finding a good quality paint that won't get sticky when mixed with palm oil isn't gonna be as che...

Third, my DVD drive seems to act strange, whenever I put a disk, it recognizes it as empty CD, the problem persisted even when I wiped the HDD and installed a new system. Does that mean that the device is dead? Finally, I've been looking for a replacement for a HDD, since HHDScan showed a lot of ba...

Re: T430 Fan Noise - Need FRU for good replacement

Well if you like hand work and cheaping out, you can consider lubricating the axle of the fans by disassembling the housing of the heatsink, and then attempt extracting the plastic spinner out of the body and dip oil inside the axle hole. It doesnt hurt since worst comes to worst you get a new fan a...

Re: ThinkPad T61 Intel Graphics Windows 10 (1903) general lag

The second hitch is the start menu lags a lot however if I install Intels driver, the lag goes away UNTIL I restart and I'm back with the original lag like with Windows 10's provided driver. I'm more concerned about the second hitch, so I'm not entirely sure what to do to stop it from lagging again...

Re: ThinkPad T41p screen size confusion (did I get a T42p instead of the claimed T41p?)

Worst comes to worst, if the postage for cables cost you a fortune (like the case for me here), and if you are very confident in modding, you can try modding the existing cable to work with UXGA by changing some of the hard-wired jumper settings. I did it to a XGA cable on a R51 to install UXGA on i...

Hi I bought ThinkPads from China before (a T43 and a T530i) and NONE of them came with anything different than the standard US keyboard. i Have two 15' T43P. Both have Intel graphics. A 15" T43p must have a 1600x1200 IPS display, which does NOT work with the Intel graphics model. Nor does any T43p model specs have Intel Graphics. Re: What is truly the best cpu you can put in a t42?

That would not be possible if his T42 is using an ICS950810, because that phase-locked loop chip is not supported by SetFSB. SetFSB is only able to overclock a T42 that has a CY28346ZI-2, not a T42 with an ICS950810. Yeah right my R51 also has CY28346ZI-2 chip and it overclocks very mildly (1.7Ghz ...

You can stick with your current CPU and do SetFSB overclocking... Did that in my ThinkPad R51 and got like 10% free performance for no costs. Just remember, first startup of SetFSB requires an active internet connection, otherwise it will ask you to pay even though it is freeware now, until you rein...
