Re: 256 MB RAM for T20/21/22

Since I own both a T22 and a T23, I think I might as well make this clear. The safer option for getting 256MB sticks working on a T22 is to go with the PC100 option. However as you know those things command a premium for being the highest capacity available for a generation of devices. If you do dec...

Re: T61P

Im not trying to imply anything, Im just recalling how my chip was working. I never said anything about changing the clock of the FSB (afaik only way to do that is to solder some stuff, cut a trace, and then flash a BIOS with the chip libraries pulled from the W700) Hmm did you really remember corr...

Re: How many people on this forum own a Galaxy S9/S9+?

Here I liked the idea of a big phone ever since the original Galaxy Note came out in 2011. I suppose I can list a couple of reasons: 1. More specs that you can pack in a bigger body (and bigger battery, very important now that phones come with non-removable batteries) 2. Better screen (Thus better c...

Re: T61P

How can you unlock the multiplier of a CPU that has the multiplier locked? Or are you talking about overclocking the FSB? Also, the X9000 can be easily overclocked to 3.2Ghz @ 1.2125V (one notch up the factory settings), and if you are insane you can get it to 4Ghz @ 1.4V. Dont have my T9300 machin...

As an owner of a Dell with the X9000, I can tell you to not get that chip and get the T9300 if you want anything close to a good battery life, minimal heat, if you don't plan to overclock with Throttlestop and if you don't want to sit down and watch for prices of them everywhere for weeks before buy...

if your optical mouse if from the 2000s, maybe you can try plugging that to the PS/2 port as well with a passive wiring adapter. Unlike T23, T22 only has 1 USB port.

Re: T4x problems with Intel Wireless 2100 3b

I know this is an old thread but I had problems with the 2100 3b card as well (but under Windows 7). I know 2200BG is way better, but seeing that this is under an antenna-modded ThinkPad T23 (with the original 802MIP card completely dead) I wanted to get it working anyways. None of the drivers provi...

Re: T23 - Battery Options?

Well anyway, I found an unbranded T30 battery for sale on Ebay, and bought it for £0.99 plus postage (sole bidder). It was apparently opened, but unused. Too good to be true? Yes, unfortunately. It would only charge to 45%-52% on the first three attempts, then on the fourth it stalled briefly at 52...

Re: p4 find for A31p

I have a P4 2.5Ghz and I personally do not recommend it on a A31p. Sure the extra heat can be taken care of by the copper heatsink, but the extra TDP is gonna significantly reduce the lifespan of your motherboard by stressing the vrms a lot more. I have received such a A31p unit with P4 2.5Ghz and i...

Re: ThinkPad T4x LCD cable mod

Spent an entire day trying to get the QXGA mod to work, but from the looks of it, it did! From the pictures of the QXGA cable (Thanks a lot, fellow Canadian olex126!), it seems like the QXGA configuration is to have all of pin 2-5 (From the top left) connected to pin1. So I took a spare XGA cable an...

Re: Preserving rubberized coating - what environmental factors to avoid?

One obvious thing is to minimise its exposure to UV light - that is, for example, try not to get the lid exposed to direct sunlight. The black colouring absorbs light well enough to heat it up with a heat output equal to the CPU of these machines. Another thing is to try to keep it away from oily, b...

Re: ThinkPad T4x LCD cable mod

I will do an update to this thread for the 15" models. From an UXGA panel sale I did recently here, I found out that: 1. Apparently 15" XGA T4x and R5x have different jumpers, but is inter-compatible. 2. Unlike my previous experiment with the R5x cable, with 15" T4x XGA cable, it is REALLY easy to m...

Re: does 770X play DVD without MPEG board?

I have the original DVD drive from my 770ED before it died and while the drive works fine for reading DVD, reading CD would require you to raise the disc so that it has enough clearance to the bottom cover to spin, and playing DVD video from modern DVD discs yields an error because the drive is too ...

I was hoping for Win7 If possible... Actually, by my time with A31p with windows 7, it is totally possible - so long as you arent using 1400x1050 resolution as the support for that resolution is hit or miss in windows 7 with these older ati cards. Use Radeon 9000 series windows xp driver for window...

A3X(p) commonly suffer from desoldered RAM slots. Out of the A3x models, ONLY the A31p (perhaps A31 too) suffers from that issue, and even then it suffers from power delivery failures far more often than this due to the wear on the components that a Pentium 4 - M brings (especially the higher clock...
