Hey, tkx for that code. Do you mind if I put it up on Github with my Linux wrapper ? call me untrusting but I am just a darn good American And you still sticked an unknown USB HID device from Chinese ebay into your computer ?! The code is clean, I decompiled it. Thinkpad modding community is made fr...

Disclaimer I don't have a dock. That being said... This user claims that it is possible to use both the dock’s display and VGA port with the Nitrocaster’s FHD mod. Is this possible with the Taobao FHD board as well? He is using the Taobao board. By the way, I am talking about the case the internal d...

Does anybody know if this also removes battery whitelist? You need the EC patch for that : https://github.com/hamishcoleman/thinkpad-ec Just be careful, if you got the latest bios (2.77) it will be EC version 1.15, while it has been 1.14 for a while. Version compatibility can be found a bit below t...

Re: x220/x230 FHD/ WQHD 2K mSATA/USB3.0

I thought the bios for the X30 series and newer had to be modified individually? I sent a dump to a 2 persons and used one myself without issue. It can be problematic if the bios version from the dump doesn't match the EC version. So you should try to extract and patch yours first. Do i get a new m...

Comments are lines prefixed with #. The top part comments explain the types used by the patches at bottom. So it just specifies the file ID, section type, and what to overwrite at what position. To apply the 3 patches, keep the "declarations" commented and leave the 3 "data" lines as they were. # Le...

I got those once and it was caused by the solders. In your install manual that would be the L0 and L1 pairs.

Re: WIP DIY x320, what I learned so far

Solder the smallest wire you can get on the 3rd capacitor from the right (* in this picture). Pass that wire through the board, solder it on the pad just below it, solder the rest.
Bios is probably pre-patched with advanced menu, wifi whitelist removed and LVDS (old integrated display) disabled.

Re: WIP DIY x320, what I learned so far

Nitro uses stock cables from x240/50/60/70, won't help much finding longer ones. The only working solution I found so far are the extensions. They need to be HQ-LED30-156, 30 pin to 30 pin.

Better late than never. I started a new job at an animation studio and they let me borrow their i1 Display. I'll try to find time to do the other panels I have over the weekend.

If it's the patch from here, it doesn't work, it just disables, doesn't remap. It's meant for the other mods that use USB for backlight control.

Re: x220/x230 FHD/ WQHD 2K mSATA/USB3.0

I have one of those with the bios but I didn't try it yet.

I don't know of a patch that works with the x220, only x230.

IIRC with the x220 you can use Lenovo's tools, the bios wasn't signed, no need for the pi ans clip. But you won't be able to patch it without the patch itself.

It can be lightly glued (serviceable) and still be pretty strong. Like this but with only the corner pads exposed. Slide a thin bendable ruler under it to detach the pads. But yeah, sides are tight. There might be room for 0.5-0.7mm rubber spacer on the sides though.

Labeled 0R2J-2, should be a 0402 size, 0 ohm resistor. You could replace it with a wire, but it shouldn't be too hard to find a replacement if you have an old dead laptop motherboard around.

here is this board but I dont have any instructions how to build this in. You can use superbuy to order stuff from taobao. It is fairly easy. AFAIK you won't be able to get it alone, KK only do installs, doesn't sell DIY kits. This one you can get as a kit. Install is similar to nitro's board, sold...

Those are the extensions I used (needs 2 for nitrocaster's board). evening_hunger recently got the wrong part when ordering those though. Make sure they ship part HQ-LED30-156 if going that route. Those are not needed if you go with the taobao's boards, like this one.

Hi, just wondering if there's a consensus on the best screen for this. I want to avoid the xps panel because of the auto brightness / CABC. Is there a perfect panel for this build?
Right now I'd say B133HAN04.6 for ease of fitting and lack of CABC. Got one in the mail, didn't test it yet though.

I'm pretty sure you just got it on the wrong side, pictures on the site are bottom and front view. It needs to be folded 2 times on one end to have the correct orientation, something like this. Same in the junction between the 2 ribbons, except with a single fold. Ain't pretty but works...
