C1506 on it's way home, paid 2 EUR for it. Can't wait to try this on my X61/T7300.

There was something else in there before PeterNC edited the post :)
I don't have any doubts about that. He edited all his posts and topics on the forum in the same manner. If I were moderator here, PeterNC would be 'no longer needed' for sure.

Re: Monster in the house!

Do you have any sudden shutdowns while working unplugged? It's always plugged, my battery is dead. I'm using 170W ac adapter, everything is working fine with X9100 and two drives. If you have sudden shutdowns on battery, it's faulty for sure. I had the same scenario on T61p, battery was showing goo...

Not enough info. What SSD are you using? What OS? Do you have fresh OS installation or clone on SSD? Trim enabled? Disk less than 70% full? What figures are you getting in Crystal Disk Mark?

Slimjet is Chromium based browser, 64-bit version for Windows is also available and Portable version is offered as well. Never heard of it before, but decided to give it a try. Imported all the bookmarks and settings from Chrome and got it ready for work. It outperforms Chrome and definitely use les...

Re: Monster in the house!

Typing this from a freshly upgraded W700. Replaced T9600 with X9100, it was so cheap that I could not resist it. Another upgrade was RAM, instead of 2x2GB Samsung PC8500 now it has 2x4GB Kingston PC8500. Not so cheap as X9100, unfortunately.

Maybe you shoud try to negotiate on this one:

It will need new display cover, other than that looks pretty decent.

Solid find, seems like most are around $200 today, sadly.
200 USD seems like a reasonable price for WUXGA W700 in good aesthetic/working condition. Just find one and go for it.

Re: W700 - Need GPU Help

Looks like WUXGA has two ccfls, whereas WSXGA has one That's right. And that implies you would probably need WUXGA inverter as well. Could baking the GPU cause any more harm than good? Baking or reflowing a dead GPU can't do any harm. On the other hand, it can't do anything good. It's already baked...

Re: Laptop collectors: if you're allowed to collect just one laptop, which one would it be?

Again, I can't do 720p YouTube without frame skip on a T601. I'm pretty sure 1080p YouTube is a requirement for any *device* to be called modern - as any $100 Chinese tablets and any modern smartphone can handle it. The T601 can't. I'm not saying it can't be useful for some people - but I'm pretty ...

Re: Monster in the house!

Some of those Dell D830 (and many others in that series) had the Sharp LQ154M1LW2A or LQ154M1LW02 WUXGA screens, that I have been "promoting" for 15.4" T60/T61/T500/R500. None better than those (and no, I am not sponsored by Sharp). And that's how I got this D830 with WUXGA display. It was not Shar...

Did you see the options offered by Dell or HP same time? I saw HP with Dreamcolor, it's fantastic. Never payed much attention to Dell, I must admit. But having experience with D830, I can say it's pretty decent laptop, in some aspects even better than T61 (better display, native SATA-2 and my wife ...

not the best LCD I think display is one of the strongest points. At least with WUXGA display, don't know about WSXGA+. Still, for 17" machines do bear in mind that - apart from keyboard, DS and colorimeter/tablet options - there was nothing in W700 that was not done better in either HP (moddability...
