Re: X230 (330) trackpoint keys not working

Thanks for your hints. As someone mentioned it has to be a hw problem. So I had a look at the keyboard flex cable and found three broken lines. I learned that it is a well known problem to xx30 keyboards. Not wanting to dump a brand new backlight keyboard I had to solder a flex cable for the first t...

Re: X230 (330) trackpoint keys not working

Yep, as I usually do not use it, I had to activate it. Now it is disabled again. No change.

Why does the whole keyboard including the trackpoint work and the trackpoint keys don't?

X230 (330) trackpoint keys not working

I upgraded my X230 to a X330 with a 13'' FHD IPS panel at 96% sRGB. What a machine! As it ran an old Bios version I upgraded that too, no problems occured. But the trackpoint keys do not work no more, not in Win nor Linux. That points me to a hardware problem. Tried it with two different keyboards t...

Pre-OS mode uses 640x480 video mode which might be handled in some specific way. Do you have another panel to test?
I tested the X230 with four different FHD panels, all working fine except the LTN133 only working in pre-OS mode.

Think so, yeah. I doubted my soldering skills rather than a brand new (but faulty) panel. But, is it really faulty, as it works in pre-OS mode perfectly? @nitrocaster: any idea? I'll swap panels on my X230 to see if the LTN133 works with other resolutions or not. Did that, no matter which resolution...

What model is your 13", is it modded ? Samsung LTN133HL02-201 FHD, non-modded. Try plugging an external screen to change the resolution of the 13" one (as low as 640x480 if possible) and try various modes. No cable to connect to an external screen. I'll swap panels on my X230 to see if the LTN133 w...

Re: Upgrading X220/X230 to FHD 1080p

That solder goes to pin 18 on the edp connector, pin 1 being top left. I soldered a wire to pin 18. Same effect. Although my 13.3'' FHD panel works in POST/BIOS mode perfectly it only shows vertical lines after BIOS is left. So I plugged another FHD panel to my machine. Success! The X230 now works ...

Some of those lines go directly under chips on motherboard, the only way to test all would from the bottom of the laptop on the dock connector. Find a way to keep the plate pushed to expose the pins. Do you have a multimeter and the x230 schematic ? I checked the lines with a multimeter on the dock...

Re: Upgrading X220/X230 to FHD 1080p

I checked both CMOS batteries from my X230's and they both work with my X230 i5 non-FHD.

Both batteries do not work on my modded X230 causing the real time clock error.

I reseated the cables, no change. Same as in #567.

An external monitor is no option as I do not own the necessary cable.

Don't agree. The s-model can have a higher resolution, but the WXGA+ TN panel is one of the worst I have ever seen (lousy colors and mediocre brightness).

It is all there, we just need to find it. A german opened the lid of his chinese X320, broke the panel and took pics. Can anyone tell me, if there is eDP video cables in different lenghts?

Depending on the panels eDP connector being on the left or right side, there is different lenghts needed.

I need the cable FRU 01AW438 in at least 10cm longer.

Is there a cable that fits my needs?
