T40 Failures info
The T40 has 1 large flaw the right side with drives only has 1 srew between CD\RW and HDD openings. If you are right handed you tend to pick up if open by the right corner of palmrest by logo. Thanks for the links but the error Is a Predesktop error and again setting it from normal to disabled the error stops and the sytem boots normal.

It is a POST error
In a previous post I mentioned it in regard to cloning and no one mentioned the error. I do know what the HMM states about the error. I do not want to delete the HPA as everyone keeps saying, I am using The Legal OEM IBM Preload of WinXP Pro and Office. Which allows move drive to mulitple T40 shells...

Objective
My objective is copy drives with both partitions working perfectly. Just want to save time. I even have a UDMA IDE hdd duplicator that is unable to accomplish.

Any body seen 1810 predesktop area error cloning upgrading HDD on t40 series?
I have to replace 14 drives.
The predesktop area is ther but IBM supp has no clue what triggers it. Since its Pheonix makes it. Any body clone a T43 drive including HPA succesfully? if so how?
