Re: Upgrading X220/X230 to FHD 1080p

Others have posted using different wires than the sense wire provided, what gauge are you using? I tried another wire, which was easier to solder but, it didn't work. I am assuming it is the sense wire (the screen is still black but VGA output still works) Hm, that's a valid question. As it was a r...

Nitrocaster, please let us know if you are planning any more batches.. AUX is connected to VCC3B, but if this was not providing power, there'd probably be more things not working. Check F6, which is located on the bottom (RAM slot) side of the board, right above the large docking connector. Images h...

It's a bit hard to see but is the sense wired soldered to the 3rd pin from the right? In the picture it looks like you have it soldered to the 4th pin from the right. Here is the link to the guide for reference, it is on page 7 and 8: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B2mH6ffKfXjCSmZEdHZxbm5nbEU/vie...

Interestingly, when I remove the keyboard screws and lift the keyboard up it starts working again. Seemingly I don't do anything else. 1) Are there any new batches coming maybe? 2) Can anyone point me to a soldering 101 site... what tools do I need for this kind of installation? Re: Installing classic keyboard into X230 with EC firmware mod

Hi, try unscrewing your taped connectors (NOT the tape itself) and re-assembling? One of my modifications resulted in rows of keys not working (e.g. XDR5 and the like), so in your case it seems the pins got shifted left or right so sending the wrong signal -- though I am not sure that is possible as...

Re: Upgrading X220/X230 to WQHD 1440p

Voted. I was really interested getting a QHD kit for the X230. Generally, I don't mind small fonts as long as the display is sharp. Seeing the FHD screen in real life, I must say it's pretty much enough for the 12.5" form. I would have preferred the ratio 16:10, like 1920x1200 instead but no such pa...

I haven't got my kit yet, but if you don't use WWAN, you could remove the blue antenna wire to create some space. The vertical lines are probably from putting too much pressure on the top/rear of the LCD. You could try to carefully 'rub' the area above the lines. With some struggle, I re-did the ca...

Ok, this only becomes interesting when nitrocaster creates a 4-lane eDP version of the board (for resolution > FHD). I have been trying to check the LCDs that would be suitable. I am looking get a panel which has a ratio of 16:10 or 3:2... so 2560x1440 (16:9) is not really a favourable option. Going...
