Re: List of reliable/recommended Ebay sellers of x230/x220

I have had good luck with this seller: https://www.ebay.com/itm/152189697618 This looks like a really great laptop, but I spent $825 on a new X260 from Lenovo with an i5-6300, FHD IPS Display, Backlit Keyboard, and 72WH rear battery(in addition to the front 23.2WH battery). For just a little more t...

Re: List of reliable/recommended Ebay sellers of x230/x220

I've bought a few X230's from this seller on ebay, and they've all been as described: http://www.ebay.com/sch/Computers-Tablets-Networking/58058/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_ipg=&_from=&_ssn=bestbuy4u2014&_sac=1&rt=nc&LH_Auction=1 Ships quickly, and I never felt like the wool was being pulled over my eyes...

Re: Anyone running Linux on a Skylake?

An update for anyone that's waiting to buy because of this, it all works quite well with Linux Kernel 4.6(at least in Debian Testing). Battery is discharging between 6-8 W, which is as good as I ever got on my X230.

Re: 51nb's X62: latest update

I also think it is possible that in the future we might get adaptable mobo options from a company like Raspberry Pi or maybe Intel. It would be really interesting if Lenovo ever sold the licensing for the x60/t60 casing to raspberry pi so they could make a laptop. If Libreboot was less of a grass r...

Re: X60s Battery

Is it pretty clear cut that it's a fault with the battery? Whenever I have the parallel problem with a car, it's usually the starter or the alternator, so I'm wondering if there are other devices inside that could be at fault.
Thanks

X60s Battery

Hello everyone, I recently acquired an x60s for cheap, and in the process of getting it up and working I've hit a major roadblock. When I first got it, I could unplug the ac adapter and it wouldn't cut off immediately, and the battery would show that it was charging. Now the battery light blinks ora...

Re: Anyone running Linux on a Skylake?

There are problems with Skylake and Linux wrt Power Management, see ink below. Also the P-state governor for Sandybridge and newer CPUs is still broken. https://www.phoronix.com/scan.php?page=news_item&px=Skylake-Concerns-MJG This article is from early April, and while I hadn't read it I was aware ...

Anyone running Linux on a Skylake?

Hey everyone, I'm thinking about buying an x260 soon, but I've mostly heard negative things about running linux on the skylake processor. I was wondering if anyone here was running any distro one one, and if they had any problems that haven't been solved yet. It sounds like updating kernel 4.4+ is a...

Re: x230- is this a good deal?

Alright, now it's getting real...this laptop is a little different from the same seller. Is it a good deal and if so what's the max my friend should bid on it?

What will make today's laptops obsolete first?

Hey everyone, From what I've gathered, a significant portion of this forum(and ThinkPad users at large) are fans of the x220 and older, making massive upgrades and overhauls to keep them operating. I was wondering what item in, for arguments sake, an x220 will become obsolete first. Having grown up ...
