Re: Can the T60 read 64GB micro SD cards with a usb card reader?

I have a Nokia 808 phone with a 64 gb micro sd card in it. My T60 with Win 8.1 64 bit recognises it just fine, when I connect it to the laptop.

Re: Did I just buy a FAKE Intel X9000 cpu ?!

Judging from the inability to boot with this processor, it is definitely a dead, but genuine processor that has been re-labeled for some reason. I suppose that is the conclusion, a re-labeled dead processor... I don't mean to reveal the eBay seller's name, but is he/she domoki1988 on eBay? Well, th...

Re: Did I just buy a FAKE Intel X9000 cpu ?!

Start a "Not as described" case as the X9000 CPU is unfit for purpose as advertised, that is, if it was purchased through ebay. Paypal may help out with a "not as described/unfit for purpose" case and may well help you obtain a refund. Failing that, look to your C/Card company or bank and explain t...

Re: Did I just buy a FAKE Intel X9000 cpu ?!

Just a quick update, I managed to acquire an Intel T9500 cpu, and that works perfectly in the laptop. So it's definitely not a BIOS related issue, something is just not right with that X9000 :( .

Re: I wonder which is toughest... TP, Let's Note, or Sony VAIO

Sometimes I wonder, how these tests are being carried out. For example I have never seen a Thinkpad T61 with firm hinges, they are ALWAYS wobbly. If they properly tested those things, there is no way they could have passed those tests. I mean those hinges start to develop a play literally within a f...

Re: T61 Battery Recommendation and Ultrabay Battery Explaination

I thought I will come back with a small update. Since I posted here, I have ordered one more extended (9 cell) battery, and one ultrabay battery as well through eBay. The extended battery was fine (not quite design capacity, but around 95% of it, still ok in my book), but the ultrabay battery was a ...

Have you applied Middleton's BIOS (with the T7300 still in)?
If not, the X9000 will not boot!
Yes, I have updated the BIOS with Highsun's modded BIOS. I have SATA 2 speed (I checked it in CrystalMark), so I am pretty positive it should work with the CPU, if it wasn't dead, or fake.

Did I just buy a FAKE Intel X9000 cpu ?!

Well, it seems like I might have one of those fake processors from China, I read about a while ago. I ordered an Intel X9000 for my T601 Frankenpad build, as it was somewhat cheaper as the rest there. It arrived this morning, and I put it in later when I had some time. The computer didn't boot up, d...

Fair point :). What matters is, that the system is nice and responsive. I just have to somehow forget those benchmark numbers haha. Human psyche is interesting. Same thing happens with cpu upgrades. Many of us is willing to pay two times as much money for like 20 - 30 percent performance gains. Make...

Comparing T60 SSD to T61 Sata 2 SSD, not much improvement?

I have flashed the BIOS of my T601 Frankenpad with Highsun's SATA 2 enabled BIOS version. But after doing some tests with CrystalDisc, I have mixed results/ feelings. The only place where I see a real difference is in sequential read and write speeds. Here are the two pictures (first one is the Thin...

BSOD during BIOS update with Highsun's modded BIOS

Let me just start that thankfully I haven't bricked my T61 motherboard. But I almost got a heart attack :) So, as I mentioned in an other thread, I am building a T601 frankenpad. Running an Intel X9100 in T601 frankenpad without hardware mod?

So I am in the process of building a T601 frankenpad, and thinking about what cpu I should get. The X9000 around $40 is still just too expensive. I am planning to update the BIOS with Highsun's modified BIOS, that has all the goodies of the Middleton BIOS, and additionally undervolts the Nvidia gpu,...

Bought a 15" 1400 x 1050 T60 with TN panel!!!

So I bought a 15 inch Thinkpad T60 quite some time ago, and finally got the time to check it out more thoroughly. It was advertised that it had a 1400 x 1050 panel in it, which was the main reason I bought it. I was 100% sure, that it will have a flexview panel, as I have never heard about TN panels...

Take a look at the first CD drives, HDDs, or calculators, or for that matter everything. Go on YouTube and search for Technology Connections CDs. So I bought a new old stock Thinkpad X3x docking base, that has the built in stereo speakers. They supposed to sound quite good, miles better than the X32 built in speaker. Re: T61 Battery Recommendation and Ultrabay Battery Explaination

Your battery is definitely the 9 cell variant, the 6 cell ones are rated as 5.2 Ah. But it's easy to tell, if the battery sits flush in the laptop, then it's a 6 cell, if it protrudes at the back, then it's a 9 cell battery. Utrabay battery indeed allows you to hot-swap the main battery without swit...
