Re: Similarity to the old way of doing things
It's the one with I5-3320M processor, 8 GB of RAM and a 160GB SSD. I really want to upgrade to 16GB of RAM but $$$ has been a little tight lol. Plus I want to add an mSata drive (really wanting to beef the whole thing up!). Plus get the keyboard replaced with a backlit version...

Re: X230 Tablet worth it in this day and age?
Just updating my original post. I did end up purchasing a really nice X230 Tablet. Currently running CloudReady (Chrome OS) in a dual-boot scenario with Windows 10 (and also Windows 7 inside VirtualBox).
What a great little laptop!

Re: X230 Tablet worth it in this day and age?
Well, I have an X230T arriving tomorrow so hopefully I'm not too turned off by the bulk of it. Of course if I am, I'm sure I can sell it and there's plenty of X230's (non-tablet) out there.

X230's on NewEgg.com
I'm looking to pickup a refurb'd X230 and I see Newegg carries a number of them. Anyone have luck purchasing from them? How can you tell if you'll get an IPS panel or not? They don't seem to list serial or model numbers anywhere...

Re: X230 Tablet worth it in this day and age?
I really liked the size and performance of the X230 but really wanted to get a tablet format device Your and my definition of worth may vary, perhaps widely, but I think that's an answer to your question. Thanks (I think lol)... I'm about 95% certain I'm getting an X230T - just waiting for my curre...

Looking for a nice, clean X230. Not too picky about RAM/drives as I can easily upgrade those, but would want at least IPS screen and backlit keyboard. Just want it to be really clean. Thanks.

X230 Tablet worth it in this day and age?
So I recently sold my X230 (non-tablet) and have been trying to find a replacement. I really liked the size and performance of the X230 but really wanted to get a tablet format device (mainly for when laying in bed surfing the web, watching media while riding the bus, etc.) I recently picked up a Yo...

Re: Help convince me...TPY 370 vs Yoga 720
Not that anyone on this forum cares lol, but I ended up purchasing a non-Thinkpad Lenovo Yoga 710 11.6" device. I know I'll probably miss the keyboard and trackpoint but this is really just a casual device for me - mainly will be used at home when relaxing on the sofa or when traveling/commuting to ...

Help convince me...TPY 370 vs Yoga 720
I'm in the process of shopping for a 2-in-1 convertible to replace the X230 I just sold. Loved that laptop but really want something a bit lighter and ability to use as a tablet (when taking the bus, meetings etc.) I think I've narrowed it down to either the Thinkpad Yoga 370 (used/refurb'd), or a Y...

PWM in 370 ?
So I've been reading a lot about PWM in many of the Thinkpad laptops. I'm assuming that PWM has been around for quite awhile and just really being talked about now? I'm considering a Yoga 370 and I know it's not the greatest (around 217 PWM below 50% brightness), but I had my X230 (IPS) for quite aw...

370 w/soldered RAM?
I'm looking at purchasing a used Yoga 370 (model # 20JJS22600). I'm trying to confirm if the RAM is soldered or not...I've looked at PSREF but that specific model doesn't seem to be listed. I do have the serial # if that would help?
Thanks.
Thanks.

260 or 370 ?
So I'm in the market to purchase a Thinkpad Yoga...I was looking at the 260 but stumbled on the 370. Looks like the 370 came out but is no longer being sold be Lenovo (although the 260 is still listed and for sale on their website). I'll be buying a used/refurbished model, either on eBay or someplac...

Which mini dock?
So I'm looking to get a mini dock for my X230 laptop...just wondering what model # I should be looking for? I see a number of them listed on ebay with various options (USB 3.0, dual DVI/Display-port, etc.)
Are they all basically compatible?
Thanks.

Love my X230!
Is it bad that I love the my new $175 X230 more than my company issued $1500+ Surface Book? No, my screen doesn't turn into a tablet (but I never use it for that anyways), and I hate the high resolution issues (I connect to tons of other servers all day long and when I switch from docked at my desk ...

More X230 questions
So I have my new to me X230 laptop...it didn't come with an OS but I was able to install Windows 10 and upgrade from 7 (using the provided key). So with a clean install, any suggestions on what Lenovo utilities add value (vs. basic Windows 10 stuff)? I've installed the Lenovo Service Bridge and Syst...

Re: X230 Keyboard Question
I don't really have an issue with the entire row being higher than the rest of the keyboard. My biggest gripe is that the Esc key isn't level (left side of the key is higher than the right). Any way to level that out? Do the keys pop off easily?

X230 Keyboard Question
I just purchased an X230 laptop off eBay (with IPS screen)...it's basically in excellent condition but one minor thing I noticed it the top row of keys (Esc, Function, etc.) seem to be slightly higher than the rest of the keys. The ESC key is especially bad, almost looks like its pushed up? The righ...

Re: X230 IPS ?
Ask them to run this program HWINFO or to go into BIOS, where you'll find the S/N on the first page. Thanks...it's a seller on Amazon so a bit harder to communicate with...I've sent them a message hoping I can get the serial #. Lenovo website does list IPS for the model I have but it says the parts...

X230 IPS ?
I'm looking at purchasing a used XPS-230 from someone and they don't have the serial # but do have the model # of 2325-DN3
Is that enough to confirm that it has an IPS panel or do I need the exact serial #?
Thanks.

Re: X201 Tablet vs X131E
Sorry to disappoint everyone but I ended up going with the X131e. However, this is the Intel i3 chip which according to benchmarks is similar in performance to the i5 that was in the tablet. The X131e is a bit heavier but also comes with a larger (6-cell) battery (I know you can get a larger battery...
