The T450 trackpad will work in the T440 if you want to go with a T440.... isn't hard to replace as I've done it before but I've yet to get the trackpoint buttons to work with the official drivers and just work on Microsoft drivers

I'm having troubles with my T440s... at times it will just lag... What in particular is it that you are having problems with? I've not played around with that specific device but It's pretty straightforward really. You'll need to correct files, SuperSU etc and you'll need ADB on your computer. You stick it in Download mode and flash the previously mentioned files...
