Re: Restore Recovery Partition?

Go to LenovoRecovery website and provide your device's Serial Number. You should be able to download a single copy of recovery for free. Please make sure to not delete these files, as Lenovo's allows only single download per Serial Number. BTW. With Windows 10, there's no longer a recovery partition...

Re: ThinkPad 390X Upgrade and general information Topic

I've updated my main post. I've found that US English keyboard FRU: 02K6310 is fully compatible with 390X. There's no such an information in HMM.

Re: Maximum disk capacity T480

So, It seems that 2 TB + 128 Gb is the maximum capacity. Can anyone think about a way to get a larger capacity.? You can buy a Toshiba RC100, which is a M.2 2242 PCIe SSD. It have up to 480GB capacity, so in total you'll have M.2 2280 PCIe 2TB + M.2 2242 PCIe 480GB. I'm afraid there's no way to get...

You may ask Impact Computers. I got from them some parts for my 390X, which were not available anywhere else.

Re: ThinkPad 390X Upgrade and general information Topic

Wow you have certainly spent some time on your 390X which was one of my favorite Tpads. I think I still have got a 850mhz cpu that I used to use in mine somewhere. It has a switchable speedstep mod that made it run only at 700mhz to try and keep it a bit cooler. It is surplus to my requirements now...

Re: SSD options on a T440

Adapter and cable were added only, if your laptop had a 16GB SSD cache disk for HDD. However, you can buy and install them if you want:
  • FRU: 04X3827, Rogue-2 FRU 3rd NGFF SSD adapter.
  • FRU: 00HM184 / 00HT883, Cobain 3rd NGFF Cable.

Re: SSD options on a T440

What are the SSD connection options on the T440 (NOT "s" or "p")? I cracked open the case and it looks like an mSATA slot next to the network card. I checked another forum and they claim its not an mSATA socket but a M.2 socket. I only saw two connectors not three. Which is correct? I'd prefer to u...

Re: 770x type 9549 - RAM, CPU and Selectadock Questions

ThinkPad 770X supports up to 320MB RAM. You have a 64MB RAM soldered on motherboard and two SDRAM sockets. Each of them can support 32MB, 64MB or 128MB (66MHz, non-parity, 3.3v) module. Official 128MB module have FRU number 01K1150. Regarding SelectaBase, I've saw some on eBay. About SelectaBase, l...

ThinkPad 390X Upgrade and general information Topic

TL: DR: A restoration guide for 390X plus some of my struggles to get things done. I’ve spent a last few weeks trying to restore IBM ThinkPad 390X . If somebody don’t know this model, it was released around the same time as 600X and also supports Pentium II and Pentium III CPUs. Well, there’s one d...

I want to let you know, that I no longer need a battery, as I've managed to bypass battery checks, so BIOS has been updated in native way. Have a look here for an idea: viewtopic.php?p=680106#p680106
The battery pin-out is in the 390 HMM (look for: battery terminals).
Thank you for information.
Well, this looks like some idea. Could you share photos of your battery extension cord?

WTB: 390/390E/390X battery

I need to upgrade BIOS in my 390X, as the version which currently is installed isn't able to properly support 2x 256MB RAM configuration (OS halts during boot). Unfortunately, it's not possible to upgrade it without a working battery - tried several methods found in the Internet, but nothing has wor...

T25 Theme and other OS customizations

I've a request. One of forums members was kind enough to share a T25 wallpaper, but Lenovo usually adds few more customizations to OS. Would be possible to share other parts? If Lenovo always customize the same parts, then list below should cover all of them: All wallpapers are stored in: C:\Windows...
