Re: Did X260 X270 (or T46-80) have the option for a 3rd m.2 SSD?

AFAIK only **40 and **50 series had that (M.2 NGFF 2242) 3rd drive option via adapter-board+cable. Technically only a one-sided SSD fits on the adapter-board, but it looks like you can also force a double-sided SSD onto it, if you don't mind bending the adapter-plate. I'd be afraid to break the SSD...

Did X260 X270 (or T46-80) have the option for a 3rd m.2 SSD?

Hi guys. My X250 now has a 3rd drive (Windows, Hackintosh, Linux) thanks to the NGFF SSD adapter and cable option. I thought that is cool, and so has a friend. However, he finds a 5th gen CPU slightly old (and he is slightly right) and he was curious if any of the later gen X or T, supporting extend...

I still have my busted x61 with T7500 that I don't really want. Only needs screws. Want to give it a try Geartooth? Nah, I'm largely done with messing around with -6x as a Whole. As much as I love them they aren't great Daily Drivers, and I'm trying to use my Neglected Xiaomi Book More. Fair enough...

Managed to unbrick it by letting it sit in a Closet for a Week or so with no CMOS. This was only realized AFTER I ordered a new Board. Now I have 2 Boards just sitting around, thanks to me somehow [censored] up the Screen, and I've largely given up. Time to order a busted T61 :D I still have my bus...

Re: Decision: T60p UXGA vs. X61s

I found at eBay R61i of type 8943-DKG. Looks like it would match... But I thought, R-series had bad reputation. It was not so high-class as T-series was. Am I wrong here? R61i is performance-wise the same as T61, and is sturdier, harder and heavier than both T61 and T60. They were sold as budget be...

Re: Decision: T60p UXGA vs. X61s

If you want to go fancy and oldschool you can also get a R61i 4:3 - it is pretty cheap and sports everything you need; plus has the option of non-touchpad palmrest and is scratch - resistant. You can move the display from yours T60p to R61i easily. Not much effort, much of effect. I found at eBay R...

I would go for a X201/X200s for a cheap replacement for travel. I'd also add a vote for X201 because the core-i series architecture ISA is the minimum required for most modern versions of guest OS running on your VM (VMWare, or VirtualBox). It's why I upgraded my x200 in the first place. If you can...

Hmm, now I am tempted to hunt for an X250s next time I am in the old stores of Tokyo. I did see an X240s over the summer, and I had a chance to appreciate the change to a sturdier material. It was somewhat reminiscent of when I had a T60. While I have heard of the corner-problem with X250 computers ...
