Re: Mini PC, which one to choose?

Have a look at the Lenovo M900 Tiny . I got one (with the i5-6600T CPU) to replace my desktop tower. (The CPU is socketed, so can be upgraded). They are all over eBay for very reasonable prices. There are newer (but a lot pricier) models available as well, such as M910, M90Q or M75q (AMD). Other va...

When my X220's WLAN slot malfunctioned, I installed that adapter (with a USB WiFi-AC dongle) on the WWAN slot to regain WiFi connectivity.
This solution sickens me.

There are sites like Superbuy that handle the translation and export process.

SOLD I just bought a max-spec P1 Gen 5 for $1800 so I'll be selling my third-gen X1 Extreme in a few days. Keep in mind that I can't sell this until my Gen 5 arrives next week, but I'm just putting this up here in case anyone is looking now. System specs: * i7-10750H * 32GB DDR4 * 512GB SSD * GTX 1...

I have some random cables and bits for the W701. I can catalog what I have in a few days, but I think it sums up to around one machine.

All else fails I'd message the eBay sellers asking if all the keys work, and if it doesn't work properly on arrival, open a defective item claim and return it.

Re: W701/W701DS Whitelist Bios

You can get them off eBay and AliExpress, they're often listed as the "AX200HMW" and go for around $20 and up, this is the cheapest one I could find: https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256803817888335.html Thanks! I've noticed that they also sell AX210 variants, but I'm struggling to actually find wha...

Re: W701/W701DS Whitelist Bios

It'll be better for sure. Increased speed depends on your BIOS though. Personally I'd recommend an AX200 in an adapter, or modifying the chinese mPCIe version to have both antennas connected. Sorry to bump an old thread, but do you have any more information on these mPCIE AX200 cards, or a link to ...

You can boot Linux on the W701ds without any hardware hacking. I've done it. You just have to boot with the nomodeset parameter until you install the proprietary Nvidia 340xx drivers and then everything works fine.

ah yes I saw this. neat project but I can’t help but wonder how good of an idea this was. modern computer with this form factor is a dream for many people but now this design is relying on old brittle plastics and the rubber coating, so who knows how long it will last. best solution would be to get...

Still available, price drop to $130+s/h as unfortunately the front bezel has cracked quite a bit while in storage. Shipping will be $50-$90 depending on location. I do need this gone rather quickly so if you're interested shoot me a message and I can work something out.

That's not as true any more. Banks are wanting to encourage the use of their services and you might be able to get them to reverse that charge, especially as it's only $35 and they'd rather keep your business.

It'll fit, but you'll be putting stress on the SSD. With a $1300 SSD I wouldn't take the risk.

Very well done. It'd be great if you could publish your wiring so we could make a custom PCB adapter maybe. As for the LCD, use the one from the X13 Gen 2 - it's a 13.3" 1920x1200 panel so it should fit perfectly and be 16:10. The panel model number is NV133WUM-N61 (there may be others) and it isn't...

ThinkPad 701C POST error 102

Hello again everyone,

I have a ThinkPad 701C that gets to a POST error 102 on startup. Not sure what it is, but I can't bypass it. This is running with the speaker, mic, hdd, modem and all other boards disconnected.

Any ideas on if this is fixable or do I need a new board?

Thanks.
