Re: Finding an easier way for quad core mod T601F

the purpose of this thread is to see if an easier to implement hardware mod is possible, or not. A mod which will not necessarily unlock all the potential of a C2Q, but just to allow the usage of a C2Q inside a T61 or a T601F. If by not having FSB 1066 or 4 core at full speed will significantly red...

Re: T400 Display-related Problems

I believe that your T400's inverter might be damaged, considering that only one of the LEDs lighted up.

If I were you, I would give a look at the video cable and the inverter's condition. Something is not quite right with these two culprits, especially the inverter.

Re: A20p/A21p/A22p motherboards

The biggest differences between those machines (in stock configurations) are screen resolution (A20p is limited to 1400x1050) and CPU speeds, so it is perfectly fine to retrofit an A21p unit with an A22p motherboard, the only real difference will be that SMBIOS will report the model as changed from...

Seeing as this would veer off-topic in any second if you or I were to continue this 'debate', then I am inclined to agree with you that it is QED. I was only merely trying to tell you that something was strangely off with your current installation, but as said before, you had already gotten what you...

Re: T60 hardware mod to undervolt CPU below 0.95V [updated +photos]

That does not make any sense, because any derivative of Yonah worked with Throttlestop 8.50. I tested it ages ago, when I still had a Socket M laptop. Furthermore, there is also this image that shows Throttlestop 8.70 working with a Merom. I suppose that you may be right, considering that some heavy...

I am interested, but I have a small question regarding their compatibility for an old Toshiba laptop.

The Tecra S11's pointing stick caps look a lot like these, but I don't know if the TrackPoint caps that you are selling would fit.

I doubt that there is a working Windows 10 driver for Intel's Turbo Memory, and it is also quite useless in most situations.

If you are still interested in making this device work, just download this driver. I cannot guarantee that it works, though.

Re: Fan noise need help

Strange, I don't understand why would the fan be running at 4510 RPM, if the processor's temperature is at a mere 48C. Try switching TPFanControl's fan mode to 'Manual', and type '2' inside the text box that is located at the left side of '(0-7)' (do not include the apostrophes). This would manually...

Are you still using TPFanControl v0.63?

If so, check the 'cpu (0x78)' temperature sensor. If it is something around 80~90C, you might have a problem.

I believe that I had swapped my old 14.1" widescreen R61's 1280x800 CCFL panel for a 1440x900 CCFL panel, and I also found out in the process that the newer LED panels do not fit on the T61/R61's motherboard (had a spare for comparison...

I would suggest you to stay with your current 45W heatsink assembly, considering that it covers the graphics chip and its VRAM chips. highsun did not modify the video-BIOS' graphics frequency settings, he only changed the graphics chip's core voltage. I don't think that there is anything you can modify in there, either. Ah, I see. Is the reduced signal strength an expected behavioural difference between the 2 cards? Generally speaking, this should not be the case. As far as OC, I think it's BIOS-limited somehow. (highsun T61-BIOS(1.0)_ASPM_OC). I see, but isn't the AC'97 codec connected to the AC'97 audio controller, which is then connected to the southbridge? On such a platform that has an 440MX, I am sure that the southbridge would be connected directly to the PCI bus. In this case, wouldn't the AC'97 codec be connected indirectly to the...

Not possible, since the T43's keyboard and trackpad has a different connector. I am not entirely sure about the pin-outs, but they might be different.
