What is the exact model of that display you got, if I may ask? I wonder what display would use 40-pin connector when for FHD resolution 30-pin is more than enough (40-pin connectors are used for 2K (WQHD/1440p) and 4K (UHD) panels).

From my experience the easiest way how to get a V.4 (FHD) panel for W520/W530, is to get another W520/W530 already equipped with it, but maybe you'll have better luck getting that panel just on its own.
