Thank you - I found the culprit when I went to thinkpad config / (Acces Thinkpad) I disabled graphics managemnet on ba...

Layman's comparission of T42p and T60p (15")
I got my T42P and compared against my frieds T60P. Here is a general comparission (In my view). T60 definitely feels solid so is T42p and the differences you can feel is very little. For general use speed feels the same. I felt T60 screen little brighter and better colors. There are minute differenc...

Thank you for all help this forum gave me...
I pulled the trigger but not for T60 but for T42p. My justification was, having accessaries for T42, long wait time for T60 (I had EPP also :). And I got 1.8 G/15" FlexView UXGA/9Cell/60G 72K/1G for <$1500 New. For my use I think memory/faster HDD + better screen would make the difference not the pr...

Here is my take...
Unless you do lot of programming and database work (or gaming) I would buy T42. Dont worry about depreciation as no matter what you are spending it will be less by the time you want to sell to the point you might as well keep it. There will be always some thing better by that time. (Only 2 years ago...

2 Questions / T60 or T42 14" or 15"
Hi Experts: I am a very heavy user of the laptop for my work. I currently have T40 14" and love it. I use it allover the place / as desk top (10%) on the couch (60%) on bed (40%). T40/14" ergonomics are excellent for my usage. I may have used parallel port few times for printing and S-Video port may...

3 Questions T43/42 14.1/15 and From where
My budget is below 2K and prefer to keep around 1.6K. I had T30 and using T40 from work. I stopped using T30 as it gets really hot, and I use it as a LAP top - literally, I work on my couch/bed a lot with the computer on my lap in. I use it for Database backend loaded on the system wiht lot of numbe...
