T440s almost powers on but doesn't

I picked up a broken T440s from eBay for $40 the other day, and the issue it’s having is rather odd. When you press the power button, the indicator lights, keyboard backlight, and fan all briefly come on for about a second before power is seemingly cut. Then the power button LED blinks 3 times and.....

SOLD: ThinkPad T460, Project T440p

Fixed up a T460 and put in a few nice upgrades, and have no need for it. In pretty nice shape and ready to go for someone. Also have a busted T440p (well not really, just a blown backlight fuse and in rougher shape) that could be parted out or used for a project. - both items were sold on Reddit. T...

Re: What can I put in my W540's mini Expresscard slot?

ExpressCard is more of a legacy slot that Lenovo sadly did away with after the P51/P71. It allowed you to add expansion cards to your laptop (Firewire, card readers, USB 3.0, capture cards, etc) and I use it on my W540 to hook up a few legacy peripherals that I otherwise couldn't plug in directly. N...

WTB: 3K IPS panel+cable for W540/541

The title pretty much says it all. I'm looking for a 3K IPS panel and the appropriate cable. Recently got my hands on a W540 and I love it, but the 1080p TN panel isn't cutting it. I could easily swap it for a 1080p IPS panel, however I think the 15" size is better suited to a higher resolution. I c...

Re: T440/p CLUNKPAD: Pics and installation of T450 Synaptics and Alps Touchpad+buttons Driver

Hey there, maybe one of you can help me: I did this on my T440p and everything works perfectly now (thank you!) but there seems to be an issue with the cursor moving from 100% scaling to 125% scaling whenever I press the center scroll button. I have to re-size it in the settings to get it back to th...

Re: Upgrading the X300/X301's display

I saw your message, I was never able to get a reply from RMSMajestic. I would love to try this mod if I could get ahold of the right parts, but I also don't want to risk destroying a screen or the X301 itself. Maybe I'll just wait for 51NB to make their own mod for this machine....

Re: Upgrading the X300/X301's display

If anyone had found such a screen, it would have been made public here. Due to the lack of a reasonably priced replacement, I got rid of my one X300 and four X301 machines, the last one went out only in December last year. I do like Thinkpads, but I'm not a collector. As things went, I rather bough...

Have you tried contacting 600X, the owner of that X301? The only other recourse is to contact 51nb directly or through some intermediary.

Upgrading the X300/X301's display

Hello everyone! I recently got ahold of an X301 (LOVE this machine, I wish Lenovo still had laptops like this) and overall while it is a very solid laptop, the display is lackluster. I am wondering if anybody knows of potential upgrades for this machine, particularly of the AFFS/IPS variety. I found...

Re: X9000 - is it worth it?

I believe that you mean T9500, not T9600. The latter requires a pinmod to run in a T61. To me personally, T9300 is the optimal combination of performance/heat/price UNLESS you're intent on overclocking where the fact that X9000 has unlocked multipliers becomes very important, and a big advantage. Y...

X9000 - is it worth it?

Hello everyone! So as I continue to gather the parts I need to complete my T601 FrankenPad project, I have to wonder, does the X9000 processor really add any performance benefits over something like a T9600? In any use, general tasks, gaming, video editing (not that I plan on using the T601 for that...

I will be really interested in the follow up on this project too.
