I run Mojave on T420, T430 and X220

I used the "patcher" tool from DOSDude.

Re: Puzzling wifi login

I don't "feel good about it", I just have very little trust in the platform.

Every experience I have had with WX has been negative due to non-stop issues of one form or another, more specifically incompatability, security, driver and crashing issues...

Re: T430 new to Cormor99

Somewhat strangely for me, I have actually combined all my OS's on to one SSD.

System seems to have perked up a bit and I now have two spare areas for SSD's (mSata and Ultrabay).

Re: T430 new to Cormor99

T430 is also capable of running MacOS. I have High Sierra AND Mojave running on mine without any problems. Have a look at buying an "Ultrabay" adapter to add a second HDD and also see about possibly buying an mSata for the spare slot underneath where the ram stick is (There is another ram slot under...

Re: New Guy with T430

Personally, I have done little with my T430 other than install 16GB RAM, have the wifi whitelist removed from the BIOS and installed my own choice of WiFi card as I run MacOS (vanilla installs of High Sierra and Mojave). I did acquire an i7 CPU, though I'm not sure if or when I will install that giv...

Re: UPDATED [PICS][GUIDE] Install MacOS 10.14 Mojave

By way of a small update, I have recently found a methodology that allows the install of a fairly vanilla version of Mojave on the T420 & T430, however, the process involves a unique EFI folder & file system that is currently NOT available. I will, in due course, re-test the installation process and...

Re: UPDATED [PICS][GUIDE] Install MacOS 10.14 Mojave

Ok one quick, possibly daft, question.... Have you tried booting the system from the USB stick up to the Clover boot loader, then into Mojave? If it will boot using the USB stick EFI, then the problem is the HDD EFI. IF it does not, it is a problem with the install. I have, on occasion, got around a...

Re: UPDATED [PICS][GUIDE] Install MacOS 10.14 Mojave

It is interesting to hear that running the installer without the battery actually lets the install complete. That is an issue I have never come across, though it is certainly one I shall remember.

Planning on the FHD, but ATM, no it does not.

Been too busy messing with other things to get near the T420, other than to use it.

Did you find the DSDT for the T420 per chance? Lots of install guides, only one really decent one out there and although not T420 specific, works just fine ;)

Re: A T420 with macOS High Sierra

Nice to see another T420 on High Sierra ;) I have to wonder though, Vanilla or patched? I have my T420 quad booting by running a token W7 (purely for just two programs!!), a flavour of Linux, High Sierra AND Mojave. I had my WWAN slot going begging (empty), so slapped in an mSata and that gave me 3 ...

Re: Thinkpad T430 Mojave, mostly working, some issues

To hide the extra options in the bootloader, you will need to edit the config.plist with Clover. If i recall correctly, it is under the GUI settings... Be warned though, MAKE A BACKUP OF YOUR PLIST FIRST!!!! Clover can and often does cause an issue with the PLIST. If needs be, format a USB stick to ...

Re: Bottom of T430 motherboard

It honestly took me less than 30 minutes to dissasemble my T430 and about the same to rebuild with the interim motherboard. The main problem being that unless an access is cut in the Mag-Alloy main chassis, a full strip is required. A small acess opening will stop that requirement and simply mean re...

Re: Bottom of T430 motherboard

Having just motherboard-swapped my T430 the sad truth is that yes, you have to COMPLETELY dissasemble the laptop. (I am removing whitelist for wifi, but need the T430 working) The infuriating thing? if you are good with tools, you can remove a section of (creat an opening in) the Mag main chassis, w...

I did, form november 2011, use smatphones. I had my first "mobile" (cell) in 1998. Starting with an LG android (Nov 2011), through an iPhone 3Gs (Feb 2012) and onto a brand-new iPhone 4s (Gift from Mrs) in (June 2012). Never have liked smart phones, never will like them. Kapton tape or some form of insulating tape.

Last time I did anyting like that, I used "Heat proof" tape as I have plenty lying around from making my personal design mugs and that worked perfectly fine ;)

Re: [PICS][GUIDE] Install MacOS 10.14 Mojave

The latest Patcher tool works for 10.14, 10.14.1 & 10.14.2, Therefore the guide is good to those versions.

I have yet to see if there is a new patcher tool, or check whether 10.14.3 works for me, personally, across my machines (I have 5 I can test on, not all of them Lenovo T420/X220).

Re: [PICS][GUIDE] Install MacOS 10.14 Mojave

Thanks for positng.

The Dell DW1515 WiFi card should require no configuaration

As for the sound, I have had no issues on that front and know of several other installs that do not either.

Did you run the "_kext_install_command" or "Kext utility" after you finished the install?

Re: T510 Strange USB Port

TBH, the eSata/USB port on my L412 and T420 don't see much use and could have been better used as a straight USB port. Unless you plan on using an eSata connection on a regular basis, I really would not bother with it. And yes, as already noted, the "Strange" USB port is indeed a downgraded eSata/US...

Re: [PICS][GUIDE] Install MacOS 10.14 Mojave

Ok, give me a day or two to run some tests. In the meantime: 1) what system are you installing on? 2) How did you format the HDD 3) What format did you choose for the HDD under the OSX disk utility? 4) What steps have you completed before hitting the issue? 5) How did you create the USB installer?
