Re: Upgrading X220/X230 to FHD 1080p
did you do git submodule update --init --recursive as all the tutorials tell you to? My repo is a fork of plain coreboot, so you'll have to follow the exact same steps. I'm guessing that's where my problem is: dwhacks@X220 ~/daduke2/coreboot $ git submodule update --init --recursive Cloning into '3...

Re: Upgrading X220/X230 to FHD 1080p
I still haven't had time to try this (water pump in my truck went). I will try this weekend. The VCC3P power is then controlled by coreboot, correct? If so, then I can't imagine the OS having anything to do with it if its controlled by the BIOS. probably, it's worth a try. Can we still use your pat...

Re: Upgrading X220/X230 to FHD 1080p
new commit - you can now power the nitrocaster PCB from VCC3P instead of VCC, reducing sleep battery drain (see description on the website ^) Wow, that's so cool! I understand this is to be built on Linux but I reckon after flashing it, it would also work when booted into Windows, correct? (Just be...

Re: Upgrading X220/X230 to FHD 1080p
I just got my nitrocaster board so I'm not quite sure why exactly else is needed for this mod. Have you checked the instructions on the first page? The mod isn't really "plug and play", but the instructions on the first page go into every detail. Most people that buy the kits do the mod themselves....

Re: Upgrading X220/X230 to FHD 1080p
ok here it is: https://daduke.org/hardware/x220-fhd/ . I couldn't get any coreboot/Seabios display output without the original VGA BIOS, but it's rather easy to extract. Let me know if you have any issues with it You are the MAN! That's what I'm doing tomorrow AM. I believe I still have all my blob...

Re: Upgrading X220/X230 to FHD 1080p
Just got a LG LP125WF2-SPB4 to replace my BOE that was giving me headaches. I'd say the BOE's must not be completely compatible because everything is great now!
Also my display from win0win came with the cut corners; bonus!
Now if only there was a coreboot patch for the x220.....

Re: Upgrading X220/X230 to FHD 1080p
I looked on Win0win for a BOE NV125FHM-N62 but their eBay ad says they may ship a LP125WF4 SPB1 instead! Is the LP125WF4 SPB1 compatible? Also, are there any screen with a colour gamut higher than 50% ? I wouldnt get the BOE model anyway! read back a page. Theres another user and myself that have p...

Re: Upgrading X220/X230 to FHD 1080p
Two thoughts come to mind: - After completing the flash did you make any additional modifications to your installation? Something related to xorg? or perhaps a kernel commandline parameter? - I'm using the NV125FHM-N62 panel - http://www.panelook.com/NV125FHM-N62_BOE_12.5_LCM_overview_29324.html - ...

Re: Upgrading X220/X230 to FHD 1080p
Im not using a patched anything. I was using coreboot before (non patched) and reverted back to the stock BIOS because of the problems. I changed the Sense wire and have the same problem. Stock BIOS X220 Bios and grub screen shows, linux mint does not until sleep/wake. If the screen goes off due to ...

Re: Upgrading X220/X230 to FHD 1080p
So when I close my lid, the display is blank when I open it. If I put it to sleep and then wake it back up there's a funny light pattern in the middle of the screen (like a broken lcd) and then it comes on and functions perfectly fine. My back light works even when the screen is blank. Is this my se...

Re: Upgrading X220/X230 to FHD 1080p
I have been using coreboot with the modified vbt for a couple weeks without any regressions. Brightness control (Fn+F8/F9) and suspend work as expected. All parts of the boot process and desktop are displayed on the fhd panel and there is no lvds-phantom output. I running an unpatched default kerne...

Re: Upgrading X220/X230 to FHD 1080p
I have an x220, or I would have tried the x230 coreboot update. I do have all my blobs and the stock bios. Does that script extract the vga bios blob? I believe the vga bios blob is needed for windows, and I'd like to get windows to run so I can use it a few times a year to tune my car. Ah, there i...

Re: Upgrading X220/X230 to FHD 1080p
As for your build, still have a stockbios copy or your current a copy of coreboot to parse the blobs out of, try https://github.com/Thrilleratplay/coreboot-builder-scripts with the provided x230 config. I have an x220, or I would have tried the x230 coreboot update. I do have all my blobs and the s...

Re: Upgrading X220/X230 to FHD 1080p
Seems like the x230 is getting some coreboot love: https://review.coreboot.org/c/coreboot/+/28950 Mine is still shotty. I've built coreboot every which way. Either I see the bios and grub and its blank until I plug in an external monitor via VGA or I dont see the bios/grub and I get to my login scre...

Re: Upgrading X220/X230 to FHD 1080p
Well after waiting for my turn for quite some time I finally made it on the list! I got my Mod kit super fast, I was surprised when I got it in the mail. The display took a little longer, but not too long, I got it today! I ordered a BOE display from the ebay seller. ANYWAY, I've got it all installe...
