Re: x61s L7500 overclock by installing dell 1705 wifi card
To lower RAM speed via SPD, which values do you change in SPD Tool? Some relevant looking values seem to be "min CLX-1 and "min CLX-2". Mine are currently 286 Mhz and 323 Mhz respectively and an overclocked X61s crashes with that RAM DIMM. But if I try to lower one or more of those two values with S...

Which grey wire is the wireless antenna wire ?
Hi. On the wireless card there is a grey wire on the left and the black antenna wire goes on the right. Changing screens and my new screen comes with two grey wires: light grey and dark grey. Which of those two greys goes on the left side of the wireless card? Thanks.

What is this little extra fan for on my X61 ?
Hi. I have to X61 laptops and one of them has a small fan (in addition to the CPU fan assembly) just to the left of the modem. The X61 with the extra fan is a T7300. The one without the extra fan is a T8100.

Re: x61s L7500 overclock by installing dell 1705 wifi card
Ok here's my update: I tried this on both my X61 and X61s. Worked on the X61 not on the X61s. Middleton BIOS Dell DW1506 I happen to have 2Gb DIMMS that only go up to 533 MHz Fedora Linux distro X61 runs fine overclocked. X61s successfully overclocks but crashes often. I'm using the same RAM chips i...

Re: x61s L7500 overclock by installing dell 1705 wifi card
i would like to do this mod on my X61s. I get the pin connecting piece and the Dell wifi card. What else is needed to overclock? The OP mentioned an upgraded BIOS? Will this mod work with the Middleton BIOS? Other than some BIOS upgrade, what are the other steps, if any?

Any way to mitigate ripple pattern when swapping LCD backlight strip to LED ?
Hi. I just did an LED backlight swap on my X61s. Sooo much brighter and whiter. But I do get a ripple pattern on the bottom of the screen from the individual LEDs (as opposed to the original tube). Any techniques to mitigate that ripple pattern?
