Thinkpad T60 bus temperature in TPFC

Well hello there! My thinkpad T60 1951 from my signature is displaying a quite high bus temperature in TPFC v0.62. Usually it's about 10°C higher than cpu temperature. The bottom of the laptop where the touchpad is situated gets pretty hot, therefore, it's not a defective sensor, it gets m...

Re: Thinkpad X31 Intel Pro Wireless 2200 BG

Oh no, I don't dare to fiddle with bios settings! That's too risky to me! But thanks!

Re: Compaq Armada 7730MT

I've disconnected the battery and the bios battery and tried to boot while holding down F10 and the power button but nope, it still refuses to turn on. Yes, a 7.4V green CMOS battery, it's a NiCd one. I wonder if it has anything to do with this cmos battery either, it's dead and I don't know if it's...

Re: Compaq Armada 7730MT

Yes, assuming it's the power supply fault! I guess I'd need to test it with a volt meter. Yes, I tried an external monitor. No luck unfortunately... These old white Armada models have the bios installed to the HDD instead of a ROM on the motherboard. I don't know if it's an issue but what seem...

Compaq Armada 7730MT

Hi, how do you do? My Compaq Armada 7730MT doesn't turn on. What happens is I get 3 green lights on Caps Lock, Scroll Lock and Num Lock whenever I plug it in, and it won't turn on. Battery is dead so I can't use it either. Funny thing is that I can open the cd drive and put a cd in there and it spin...

Re: Thinkpad X31 Intel Pro Wireless 2200 BG

I've just been told by the seller it's an Intel Pro 2100 Wm3a2100 Mini-pci and not an Intel Pro Wireless 2200 B/G and he doesn't know about IBM FRU numbers xD

I don't have a floppy drive either.

Thank you, I'm gonna get the X31 and T60 manuals!

Re: Uncorrectable Hardware Error Blue Screen

Ohh yes, it's pretty hot this time of the year indeed! I opened it again and repasted, I thought I applied little thermal grease but nope, I applied more than needed. So now I applied the correct pea sized amount. Temps stayed about the same with an undervolt value of 1.050V, yes I had to back up tw...

Thinkpad X31 Intel Pro Wireless 2200 BG

Hi there, my X31 came with no Wi-Fi card so I bought a Siemens Gigaset PCMCIA card for it which runs great! Recently I found an Intel PRO/Wireless 2200 B/G. I've did some research and found this thread: https://forum.thinkpads.com//viewtopic.php?f=3&t=91702 People say it's compatible but I need an I...

Re: Uncorrectable Hardware Error Blue Screen

I see. I'll check out if I applied the thermal paste correctly, I guess I applied less than necessary. By the way, do you recomend tpfancontrol for this T60? The fan is always on in the 2800~3000 RPM range but it can't handle AIDA64's cpu stress test very well, 71ºC during a 15 min test undervolted ...

Re: Uncorrectable Hardware Error Blue Screen

Thanks everyone! I figured out what went wrong, I updated the bios (First time I ever did it) with the C2D T7400 inside it (Yeah I assumed the risk of bricking it if it was really defective but I supposed it weren't since the bios recognized it and I could go in W7 safe mode) but I didn't turn off t...

Re: Uncorrectable Hardware Error Blue Screen

I've just updated the bios to v2.27 but it still gives me the same blue screen of death error. I'm assuming the processor is defective because I swapped it back to my old Core Duo T2300 1.66 Ghz and it's running good again, in fact I'm typing this message from my T60. What do you think? I wanted som...

Thinkpad X31 temperature values

Hi, I'm wondering what's the normal operational temperature of the IBM thinkpad X31. I know it runs hot, even undervolted. I'm aware I need to control the fan speed manually because the bios settings kicks in only in the 65~70ºC range. But there's some values that concern me in the tpfancontrol prog...

Uncorrectable Hardware Error Blue Screen

Hi, how do you do? So, I have a Thinkpad T60 Type 1951 15' inch screen with the Intel GMA 950. I decided to change its cpu from a Core Duo T2300 1.66 Ghz to a Core 2 Duo T7400 2.16 Ghz. I have a revision 3 board and my bios version is 2.11, I decided to not update it since I found out Core 2 Duo pro...
