good idea syhead . I actually at first tried jamming something near the arrow keys to push the keyboard down. But I found that what I jammed there inevitably always popped back up. Unfortunately I couldn't find anything the right size to fit along the sides. So I went with the sticking-something-und...

All battery manufacturers suggest it is best to do a complete charge and discharge on first use of battery, IBM websites state this and manuals. They also suggest to do this regulary so that it will reset the life of battery gauge Never let your battery go to 0% and cause your computer to turn off....

Is it only with the T41s or network-wide? I used to remember having this problem with my wireless. It would be fine for 20 minutes then drop off (even thought the connection was green). The only way to get it back was to reboot. Then the cycle continued. I'm afraid I can't remember exactly what I di...

Hey Trip I've got the optical flex too (and the gap.....although I think all are like that). The flex did worry me since it looked easily breakable but since it hasn't happened yet.....I can live with it. The gaps are disturbing but since I think they are a design feature I'm sure they are okay. The...

hmmm I seem to have the same problem with my T41. At first, I noticed that pressing keys on the right hand side resulted in loud clicking noises (and I could see the keyboard move up and down. That was fixed by sticking something underneath. But I have noticed now that the keys are slightly raised a...

Well the flexing of the lid (side and back) does make if perhaps feel not as sturdy, it might be (as some of you have mentioned) necessary so that the lid, which is quite thin, does not break easily. The flex is there to give it some "movement" like they have in earth-quake secure buildings. Better ...

wow and I thought I was the only one with similar problems! Thanks guys for all your input. My T41 is the first laptop I've owned. The flexing of the case/lid I noticed fairly quickly after I bought it but disregarded as a design element. It was the flexed/warped LCD screen that I only saw today. I ...

Hey thanks for all the input guys. I have exactly the same LCD problem on my T41. It still works perfectly fine but I only noticed today that yes! there is a gap! I actually thought I had broken it somehow but since it appears to be a not uncommon problem..... As long as it continues to work I'm fin...
