Technically, you can upgrade to any Ivy Bridge i7 CPU, which come in 35W, 45W, and 55W versions. 55W CPUs would run too hot for the cooling in this laptop. 45W is doable, but you have to fight the heat and you get worse battery life than on 35W CPUs. You can upgrade pretty much anything in a T430. T430 - eGPU and mPCIe whitelist

Hi,

Can I use an eGPU though the mPCIe slot without removing the dreaded Lenovo whitelist? I'm asking because I'm on BIOS 2.82 and since this BIOS version it is not possible to remove the whitelist without a BIOS reflash.
