I agree with duffy's comments. I was about 2 clicks away from buying one of these online, when the better part of my sanity told me to go and have a hands on demo first. Lucky I did. Although it is a very responsive machine in terms of program loading times and bootup, the screen was a major let-dow...

One last report. Noticed a few other buttons behaving 'abnormally' such as the tilde, quote, and ^ button. The aforementioned symbols were not appearing until I hit another key. Suddenly realized where the problem may be originating from. Checked the input language from the Regional and Language opt...

Getting no joy from IBM support, so had another go at the problem. Didnt really want to do a workaround, but couldnt pinpoint the root of the problem. Searching the registry for the relevant keyboard scancodes yielded nothing. In the end I just ran the Keytweak program again and remapped the right a...

Oh, thats right, forgot to mention that I had tried the Thinkpad Keyboard Customiser before. I had mapped it to the Windows key, and it seemed to do the job. This lead me to think that it wasn't a hardware problem. But I just want it to act like a normal Alt key ... and I cant seem to do that with I...

Small but annoying keyboard problem on my T43
Hi, I am getting some bizzare behaviour from my right alt button, and was hoping for some advice as to how to track the problem down. Well, first of all, pressing it by itself does absolutely nothing, for example, I am unable to access the upper toolbars with it. Also, most combination keystrokes in...

I dont want to seem like im harping on about it, but the webpage thing was a big problem for my head to get around. If it was only for the Toms hardware site i would have just put up with it. But when every other site is either squished to the left, or centre justified with large empty spaces border...

I felt that with 1400 res I was getting a lot more eyestrain. Whether that was because I have been habituated to 1024 screens, Im not sure. However, 1024 does seem to be the most compatable res to view web pages at. Take the popular Toms Hardware site. On 1400 the page is squished to the left. Cntl ...

If you are going for the 14'' screens, I would recommend the lower res. IMHO at that size, 1400x1050 renders the text too small for comfortable viewing, expecially if you have been bought up on 1024x768 screens. True, you can tweak the DPI to appoximate the 1024 font size on the desktop, but it does...

help cleaning out the software update directories
Ive noticed that the software updater keeps around old install files for drivers and other software that it has already updated. Is there quick a way of cleaning all these out? The filenames are not exactly intuitive, and it seems very tedious to search through the driver directories manually. Any a...
