Re: 65w power supply center pin question

I have a couple of old Lenovo ThinkPad 65W 20V power supplies with the big barrel connectors. Model numbers: The big barrel connectors have a center pin, which I understand is for the computer to sense the wattage of the power supply. I want to use these two power supplies as spares to power my Len...

Install all 3 via Melpa, dune-mode is on github but ocaml is way off the beaten path and too french for me ;) Melpa? Is that is some sort of Emacs black magic?... There is "editor-integration/emacs/dune.el" inside https://github.com/ocaml/dune which mentions "dune-mode" so it seems it should be com...

Re: T530 blob free wifi recommendations

I don't know if the t530 is locked to some cards in bios I think yes, there is a WiFi whitelist in BIOS. And there's a body of info online on how to get around it. One interesting tool is https://github.com/n4ru/1vyrain/ (and https://github.com/n4ru/IVprep to reppare for 1vyrain) The appeal here is...

Re: WTB: few x61s parts and x220 DC-in connector

Wow, they are identical indeed! At least the enclosures are. Now need to figure out how easy it is to switch the connector on the other end It was my hunch that the part might be identical between all round-barrel Thinkpads. If that was true it would mean you could get any connector from any round-...

Hi, just a broken off piece of plastic in my view shouldn't have caused any trouble on its own.. It does sound like something is wrong with the motherboard though. If you are a good enough with a screwdriver why not open and have a look? You'll need the HMM (hardware maintenance manual), you can fol...

One theory could be that something is wrong with the EC firmware enabling the use of X220 keyboard in an X230. If that is the case however everybody who has flashed it should see the effect. I still haven't done the mod so unfortunately cannot say anything more useful..

The first thing to check is the layout of ports on the left side. I think they match between T61 and R61 of the same size. You're welcome to check photos online. Would you consider using it with a 4337 docking station ($12 on ebay)? There are two DP lanes going from X220 into the docking station, you can use same power adapter between the machine and the dock if you want to. For a stationary setup at home a dock looks ideal.
