Docking Questions for T410
Out of curiosity, has anybody here purchased any of the docks or port replicators available for the T410? I've been thinking about dumping my current desktop and using a dock in conjunction with my existing T410 and 22in LCD as a "desktop" solution. Are there any notable drawbacks (like overheating)...

Re: new T410 only recognizing 2.92 Gb memory in windows XP SP3
That's interesting given that only 2.92 GB are usable for me on my T410. One would expect that both units should offer the same amount of usable RAM...nikki605 wrote:Yes. I have a T410 with integrated graphics only and 4GB memory, but only 3.8GB are usable.

So it's safe to presume that this also causes similar issues for those with integrated graphics?Colonel O'Neill wrote:One GB is reserved for the NVS3100M graphics card as supplementary VRAM, apparently.

Re: Outlet concern
Thank you for the comments. It really helps. Right. The logic doesn't really work, and I wait and see. I probably would get a really cheap one and buy a new Thinkpad later. Hhahaa Thanks. Admittedly, that's the depressing part about the outlet. The units aren't really that much cheaper than what yo...

Re: Outlet concern
Earlier this month, I purchased a T410 at roughly $100 less than the lowest price offered with a Core i5. I ended up sending the unit back for warranty repairs to have the system board and wireless card replaced. Nearly ten days later, my laptop came back to me in good condition, and it's been worki...

T410 woes
Like Sunrl, I found a refurbished T410 on Lenovo Outlet last Sunday, but unlike his, I've been having a number of problems with the unit that just came yesterday. So far, my unit is suffering from poor wireless connectivity and mysterious shutdowns. So far, I've gotten the wireless to connect by tur...

Re: Great deal on x60's
Admittedly, I'm wondering if there's a different in terms of build between both X and T series. Any laptop I buy will probably sit on my lap or table at home as a convenience unit for most of its time until it goes into a messenger bag on a trip. The graphics aren't that big a deal since other than ...

Re: Great deal on x60's
Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but it appears the seller has another batch for sale. The terrible thing is that I may buy another one, since I sold the other one I bought. http://cgi.ebay.com/X60-Ultramobile-Laptop-Mouse-AC-Adapter-Carry-Case-/260634305668?cmd=ViewItem&pt=Laptops_Nov05&hash=item...

Re: Dead X32
I've owned a X32 which ended up failing in the exact same manner. Try swapping the RAM when you get a chance. If that doesn't help you're looking at a new motherboard. Good luck. I've tried swapping the RAM around, and I'm still getting the weird combination where I boot to Windows but fail within ...

Re: Dead X32
I'll attempt to give more details. When it starts up, I'll get one of the three following situations from most often to least often... 1) It turns on, nothing on the screen, no access to BIOS or diagnostics, and no beeping. 2) It turns on, nothing on the screen, no access to BIOS or diagnostics, but...

Dead X32
For some reason on the begining of my trip overseas, my X32 (Type 2672-M3G) has failed. At first it would start up with no problems, but eventually I'd get a blue screen of death after a few minutes of operation. Now, the laptop will turn on, but will sometimes make a four beep chine when I attempt ...

Re: X100e Dual Core Models
I mostly bought the X100e for price reasons. That's the reason I was looking at the X100e in the first place. At the beginning, I was in the market for a netbook, but became disenchanted after using one that my niece owned since it felt a bit too small and awkward for my tastes. The X100e appeared ...

Re: X100e Dual Core Models
I wrote, "I don't think the dual core X100e models are a good buy. They jack up the price so much you might as well get an X200." That's just what I meant. You can spend $719 on an L625 dual core X100e, or $700+ on a refurbed X200. I know which one I'd pick. I made an error and presumed that you we...

Re: X100e Dual Core Models
I would never even consider a used X61 in comparison with a refurbished X200. Those can be had direct from Lenovo for prices in the $700 range. How long can you get support for an X61? I've always been a bit baffled by how to add on support packages for used/outlet items on the Lenovo site. Can you...

Re: X100e Dual Core Models
Admittedly, I'm wondering what's a better bet at this point. A used, but good condition X60/61 or a brand new dual core X100e. The new keyboard looks nice and has great reviews, and now that the X100 dual core, it can theoretically compete with the dual core, but older generation X60/61 units. They ...

I'd much rather go for a new laptop primarily since I don't feel like getting burned with somebody's else's repairs and dead battery. Plus, I'd like some decent video RAM even it's shared. The older laptops aren't too beefy in that department and made playing really old games impossible for when my ...

Buying ThinkPads...
Right now, I'm an owner of an IBM ThinkPad 570. It's slowly dying, and I'm too lazy to bother fixing it up. The LCD messes up periodically, the battery is practically dead, the AC adaptor cord is frayed, and the monitor can't stand upright. I'm thinking about buying a new laptop, and based on the pe...
