Re: LTE Option X1C 6th Gen (2018)

Yeah, our region's Lenovo/ThinkPad also missing the Mobile Broadband (WWAN) option. It's almost as if they are out of parts for this options...very strange. (In our region, we usually have the Mobile Broadband (WWAN) option available). http://www3.lenovo.com/hk/en/laptops/thinkpad/thinkpad-x-series/...

Believe it or not, T25 is still being sold here in our region--both in retail stores and Lenovo website itself !
Guess the T25 is alive and well !

Re: X1 Carbon 3rd gen damaged screen.

I know for a fact that the touch screen version of X1 Carbon Generation 3 has a thicker LCD cover (the portion you flip up for LCD is thicker).

I myself have the non-touch version of X1C3 with QHD 2560x1440 IPS panel.

Never opened it up though, still under our (extended) 5-year warranty...

Why a new x1 carbon? Used x1carbon from 2014 are 230 GBP on ebay.co.uk. When watching movies and browsing the web you could hardly tell the difference between that machine and the 1000 GBP i7-7500u.

Yes, we exclusively use 2.5" HDD for backup, and that is very useful, thank you!! A Y-cable for additional USB power input to power up the eSATA connection, ingenious ;) Are you backup drives 2.5" or 3.5"? Well, think on the bright side! Understand that you have replaced your T410 with your ThinkPad 25. Just to report back anecdotal evidence: We have two (2) units of X1C3 (3rd generation), and one (1) unit of X1C4 (4th Generation), and we have never seen this problem you've observed (rare intermittent mouse click miss). Just checked, and found that external square (4:3) monitor displays still available.

The catch: many manufacturers demand minimum 5 units per order, and prices are (sky) high.

Anyways, here's to wishing that all ThinkPads are 4:3 LCD ratio !

If one uses a non-ThinkPad USB-C charger and it wrecks your (expensive) ThinkPad, think this voids your warranty.
