Did you know that you can go into the BIOS to switch the [Fn] and [Ctrl] button functions around? We actually prefer the ThinkLight !

ThinkLight can illuminate a piece of paper that is beside your computer,
allowing you to work in otherwise compete darkness.
Actually tried to do office work in such situations, and it works!

The illuminated keys cannot do this.

Yeah, our region's Lenovo/ThinkPad also missing the Mobile Broadband (WWAN) option. It's almost as if they are out of parts for this options...very strange. I know for a fact that the touch screen version of X1 Carbon Generation 3 has a thicker LCD cover (the portion you flip up for LCD is thicker).

I myself have the non-touch version of X1C3 with QHD 2560x1440 IPS panel.

Never opened it up though, still under our (extended) 5-year warranty...

Yes, we exclusively use 2.5" HDD for backup, and that is very useful, thank you!! A Y-cable for additional USB power input to power up the eSATA connection, ingenious ;) Are you backup drives 2.5" or 3.5"?
