Just an addendum, Lenovo USA website still sells later version P50 with proper RAM that works with WWAN, all ordered directly from Lenovo: http://www3.lenovo.com/us/en/laptops/thinkpad/thinkpad-p/P50/p/20ENCTO1WWENUS0 ie: P50 ~compatible RAM DDR4 2133 MHz (=2.133 GHz) ~WWAN built-in directly from Le...

Re: Upgrading a new P50?

Almost all our Thinkpads have WWAN (Mobile Broadband); that's why we stick with Thinkpad ;) 1) We briefly flirted with your same idea of P50 with WWAN last year, and our conclusion as follows: a) Early versions of P50/P50S/P70 with RAM DDR4 2400 MHz cannot use WWAN (WWAN also uses this very same 2.4...

Actually we just cut a square of cardboard paper, and use tape to temporarily cover the webcam on our Thinkpads. (We are using Win7 by the way). On the rare occasion that we use Skype or anything like that, we just (temporarily) remove the cardboard paper, until after use. Low tech ;) ...Bye-bye pri...

Re: And another reason to avoid Micro$haft's W10

Windows 10 is about to implement built-in eye tracking functionality, obstinately for disabled accessibility (yeah, right). It would not surprise me when in the not-too-distant-future that M$ would obstinately announce eye tracking for *ALL* Win10 users, to better help serve the user (and pad up on ...

Anyone with T41 model with RAM upgrade experience?

Nice choice on your X1C4 ;)

We bought our X1C4 because:
~Last model to support Windows 7 with Windows Update (we plan to use Win7 until supports ends in 2020)
~NVMe SSD support for future-proof storage
~16 GB RAM (first X1 Carbon model to support 16 GB RAM)

Do enjoy your X1C4 ;)
