The FRU# on the drive is 39T2507. I meant that I could find a record of the drive on the lenovo site anymore.

I can't find the fru# from the website, but it's Panasonic UJ-822B. Writes DVD -R/+R/-RW/+RW/RAM/ROM. No dual layer unless there's a firmware upgrade I'm unaware of.

Aren't they compatible with the 9600? I have a T42, and I'm sure I've heard of people using these drivers without incident on this forum.

When I try installing either the Omega drivers or the modded catalysts it creates a screen flicker after one or two reboots. Could this have to do with some internal conflict that I can fix with a fresh installation, or should is it a hardware issue?
