No not in a R50. I replaced the MDC with the BMDC on my R40 which are very similar. The upgrading the Wifi card is where the bios conflict arises that people are referencing.

There isn't a bios issue for the BMDC, when you connect it the system windows see it and installs it. I prefer using XP SP2 but you can down the Widcomm drivers from IBM as well. According to ThinkWiki the BMDC is an option on some models so it should not be a problem. For the Widcomm software searc...

Built-in Bluetooth & USB Device Not Recognized

I've had this problem off and on and never seem to completely resolve the underlying issue. From time to time, the bluetooth will suddenly stop working and it will pop up with a USB Device Not Recognized message in the systray. It might be helpful to have Task Manager running, sorted by CPU and minimized to the systray so you can quickly check it when this happens. Sometimes, but not always, you can check the running processes and see which is take up the CPU cycles during this brief time. For such a delay I would expect a...

I guess that's the problem the card is installed and it's still not enabled. The only driver I've ever had is the one SE provides. If IBM has their own I've never seen it.

Ultrabay 2000 as 2nd HDD

IBM specs list it as only being capable of something like 36GB. I can't imagine that's true anymore but haven't been able to find out if this was a BIOS, hardware or software limitation. Surely IBM or someone has worked around this problem. Additional insight would be helpful.

It seems the MS BT driver for the IBM Integrated Bluetooth II adapter has become corrupt. I tried to find the driver itself but haven't had much luck. I'd really rather not have to reinstall SP2 just to get the drivers. Would anyone happen to know where or how else I might obtain another copy?
